$1500 bucks or trade for a 4runner, FJ60 or FJ55 with a lift and mods. Front axle is a 79 chevy 3/4t dana 44 w/ 4.10 open. Rear is 91 chevy 3/4t 14 bolt sf 4.10 welded. Rest of drive train is 360 w/ eddy dual plane and eddy 600cfm elect choke. NP203 w/ part time conversion and 727 w/ b&m...
well I did some research and found that in order to get 300+/- hp on a 22r you would need about $10,000. Thats the cost of a LCE stroker long block, supercharger kit w/ carb and intake, plus accessories such as pulleys, wires dist etc. It is about $5000 less to Bolt in a crate 350 turn key w/...
going in a 84 runner. Looking for something readily available, worthwhile, not unheard of, not pricey, and simple. By simple I mean one for one. I like carbuerted stuff cause I am old fashioned.
I would like something with more power. I know 22r's are great because I have had 3. But there is no replacement for displacement. Maybe I will just go 350. Do you think that the drivetrain is up to it?
Ok, I read about cutting and turning and thouroughly understand it. But, what if you just avoided that step and just welded the perches 180 degrees on top of the axle housing and used adjustment shims to correct the pinion angle. HHHMMMM
What is lagest lift I can get off the shelf for a 60? Or is there any place that sells cut and turned housings ready to ship for frt and rear? will I need traction bars? Keep the stock springs for a SOA? Steering upgrades? Give me your reccomendations. I am gonna do my research first.
sorry, I should have specified 55. I plan on getting a cruiser but stuck between a 55 and 60. I want the luxuries of the 60 but nothing can compete with the 55 body style. My wife thinks its ugly but it is classic and unique and that is what I am all about.
