crap in fuel? You look in your tank? Old fuel lines will deteriorate and clog carb. New filter? Glass bowl type, might be able to see crud. Idle solenoid as mentioned above, remove from carb and watch if it moves when you turn key.
Pics will help get responses. Good luck.
I have had great experiences ordering from vintage teq. Never any problems whatsoever, would recommend Matt every day of the week and twice on sunday. Thanks for the great service matt! Keep it up.
I like the suicide knob on the wheel, poor mans power steering and nice seats! Lots going on in there..... Gauge cluster is not oem, turn signal too, and missing the dash pad on top, can't see the vacuum 4wd shift, But nice cruiser from what you show.
Marksoffroad suggested removing the pucks from the rear motor mounts and then my tranny slid right in. I feel your pain, took three days until this suggestion helped me stab it.
I have a 36 Webber on my 22r pickup. It had similar issue, not exactly the same. I found I was providing too much fuel pressure, was bypassing float, or over riding the float. I replaced that dial type regulator with a more expensive 60$ regulator and I put a small dial pressure gauge in...
Try a jumper wire for the negative (ground) side of the idle solenoid. I'm not sure about 77....but my 70 carb, will release the solenoid without removing too much else, maybe just the accelerator linkage and choke cable.
Yup. Idle solenoid was off, as well as accelerator linkage. Took off top of the carb. Blew air and carb cleaner thru the passages, especially the accelerator nozzle. Must have been some debris in there, squirting much better, strong flow, straight stream right under the venturi. Drives much...
I spend more time looking for washers on the ground than I get to drive my 40. I think maybe my hard (og) fuel line from pump to carb might be supplying me with rust, the rest of the fuel system is rust free.Keeping my carb, I have a Chinese backup, but the linkage looks like a headache to adapt.
Getting a good squirt. I will try to get a pic or video.
I also tried jumping the coil straight to the battery, that didn't change anything, then I swapped in another coil ( not new), no change. Everything went back to original.
Removed the jets, cleaned them with a small wire and...
No dribbling at idle and the leak at the throttle shaft seems to have disappeared, even if I work the throttle and flood the carb.
Engine idles great but I'm having some stumbling, popping and hesitation on acceleration, trying to figure this out before I go crazy. I took off the idle cut...
I like that half cab, I want to do that to mine. Your tool box\chest is blowing my mind. Years of collecting there. I like your progress and power train plans.
There was a leak at the gasket just above the nozzle. No fuel from the nozzle, jet, spray or otherwise. Clogged. Instead the fuel would dribble/gush from the gasket where the two plates meet. Took apart the carb (thanks to your YouTube vids, which are awesome btw!) dipped, cleaned, blew...
