New tube bumper for my rig

Good to know about the pull direction. This is mounted to the frame in a location below and to the side as well, so it should be a bit better, but I see your point. As far as sticking the receiver in the midwest gunk, it might be a good idea to put the winch on at the beginning of a trail...

New tube bumper for my rig

A lot happened behind the scenes, and in the end it came down to this: Woody and Gumby are good people. Period. ...but enough of exhuming what is dead. :) Thanks for the comment. :)

New tube bumper for my rig

So in my never ending search to modify my rig within a budget and yet maintain a "look" that is unique, I turned to Toy Outfitters (aka NCFJ) for a front bumper. His tube frame bumper is one in which you can order a winch mount or a receiver. I opted for the receiver so that a portable winch can...

Two meager days at a local lake

This was neither an adventure nor an expedition, nor what many would even call fun. It was not a remote location. I simply didn't have the time. In fact, it was a state park here in Illinois. But given the events that have transpired in my life recently, I simply needed solitude. I needed...

Home made light bar. Keep It Stupid Simple style

So a couple of years back I bought a Dakar Light Bar by Rampage. In spite of the fact that the directions were the worst ever, it served it's purpose. It held lights. Sure I had to add vibration isolation pads to minimize the vibration effect while driving, but no harm done. It worked...

    Snorkel, CAI, TRD Exhaust Installed

When I talked with Steve-O a week ago, Man-a-fre had 10 left. I'm not sure where they are with them now. If you need Tacozilla's phone # just let me know. I agree. I love the stock rack, and while I can't stand on it, it does all I need it to do.

    Snorkel, CAI, TRD Exhaust Installed

Thanks :) Thanks! ARB provides a template that makes measuring unnecessary. They really do make it easy. Knowing the finised product, it did not bother me to drill a series of 5/8" holes and one large 4" hole. I just made sure I primered the snot out of them when finished.

    Snorkel, CAI, TRD Exhaust Installed

I thought I was finished with mods for the year, until word of the Safari Snorkel becoming available for the FJ reached my ears ...er, .. eyes. Tacozilla works for Toyota of Houston and is an all around good guy. While ordering the snorkel from him I got a bit impulsive and ordered the TRD...

    Firestone Destinations on Procomp 7089's

Pretty darn good. The tires are great in snow and wet. Now that they have a few thousand mile on them they are a bit louder than they were new. Gas milage went from 19-16 mpg. I wouldn't have it any other way :D
