    Brakes ...... Overdue write-up.

It is mentione that the seals are not servicable and not provided by Toyota. However, I believe I have seen them, here is an example: https://www.roughtrax4x4.com/brms016-genuine-brake-master-cylinder-seal-repair-kit-with-abs.html or are they diffferent?

Gary Rigby, AKA: 80BREAKER, GARRY@80BREAKER.COM BUYER BEWARE

I get almost all my parts from a company just outside Barcelona. They sell parts, repair and restore cars, and have most parts for HDJ80s (and HDJ100s) and the owner David is one of the most knowledge people I met in this space and service minded. Also speak fluent English. Contacts: David...

HDJ80 springs - Stated vs actual lifts for stock/standard cars

Hi all, This question relates to actual lift height for various aftermarket springs for Land cruiser 80 / HDJ80 for STANDARD / STOCK cars (i.e. no extra weight). Since the stated lift vs actual lift seems to depend on a number of factors (e.g. brand, if break in required, different weight of...

    Black tar on trunk floor

Thanks, I will try to get hold of some dry ice. This tar is pretty messy, strange solution to insulation (I am in Spain and it is middle of the summer which I guess is why it is melting). So nobody thinks there will be a problem with noise if it is removed?

    Black tar on trunk floor

Hi I just pulled my trunk carpet out to put a new one in. There are some patches of black rubber or tar on the floor (which I guess is sound insulation). Most of it is still hard but some has become soft / sticky. The old carpet was stuck to it in some places and I guess the new carpet will...

Should I remove OEM floor tar before installing carpet?

Update, sorry I didn't notice that this was in the 60 series. I was talking about a HDJ100 so I will move this question to the 100 series forum. Ignore below. Hi to collect some more information on the tar in the cargo area. I just took out the trunk carpet to put a new one in. Some of...

    Power window repair w/pics

I suspect this is more unusual but when one of my rear windows kept getting stuck in a down position it turned out the plastic button was broken. The window would sometimes not go down at all and sometimes go down but not up, but then go up after trying for a while. When taking it apart the...

    HDJ80 turbo options

So if someone is interested I found out that the early HDJ100 1998-2002 (I think) has non-variable turbos CT26 OEM 17201-17040. This is for Europe, perhaps different elsewhere. Not to be confused with the HDJ80 turbos which also have CT26 casing but different OEM nr 17201-17010.

    HDJ80 turbo options

Ok thanks didn't know there was a difference in turbos for different hdj100 years. I have to do a bit more research to ensure I get the right one. It sounds like I need to find a CT20 or CT12B. Since I live in Spain I will buy one in Spain or France (so from a European car). I did check in...

    HDJ80 turbo options

thanks, so just to be clear a hdj100 turbo would give you a bit more power overall and there is no real disadvantages compares to a hdj80 stock turbo (apart from some extra assembly to get it installed)?

    HDJ80 turbo options

Thanks that is helpful. By redline you mean the red rpm spectrum? Does that mean less power at higher rpms? It wouldn't be a problem since I just using it as my daily driver and probably never reach the red rpm zone.

    HDJ80 turbo options

Hi, I bought my 3rd HDJ80 this time a 12 valve (manual, 3rd row seats). Whilst it works well I am doing a frame off restoration to get it back to as new condition as possible. Everything will be kept original except some performance enhancements. So this question is about turbos. Would there...

Land cruiser 80 / HDJ80 body left hand conversion

Thanks. I can image a complete conversion is tough, very brave! So I have a LHD car and it will remain LHD. I just need to change the body (it has rust). At the moment there are no LHD bodies available but there are some RHD. I could reuse the firewall/front body section from my current LHD...

Land cruiser 80 / HDJ80 body left hand conversion

This question relates to the feasibility and effort to convert a right hand land cruiser 80 body to fit a left hand car. To avoid confusion, lets say you have a left hand land cruiser 80 and need to change the main body only. What would it take to adopt a right hand body? I guess the front...

Gary Rigby, AKA: 80BREAKER, GARRY@80BREAKER.COM BUYER BEWARE

Same here spent £1600 with Gary for a injector pump (£400), turbo (£350) and a number of other parts. I was insured in writing that I would be sent an injector pump and turbo for a 24 valve (they are different for a 12 valve) diesel. Both parts I received were for a 12 valve and could not be...

Installing factory roof racks on LC100 body without roof rack mounts

Thanks that is very useful info. I actually don't have a LC100 yet but am looking for one. Most are without roof rack here hence the question. I hope they will be the same construction as the US and have the roof rack mounts.

Installing factory roof racks on LC100 body without roof rack mounts

Hi, I have done quite a lot of search on whether it is possible to install the factory roof racks on a Land cruiser 100 that does have roof rack mounts from factory but haven't found any info on this. To be clear I would be looking to create the holes in the roof etc but without risk of rust...

    fzj80 / hdj80 interior body paint code

Hi, I am looking for the paint code for the interior of the body panels (NOT the interior trim). It is some type of satin blackish color which I believe is standard for all Land cruiser 80s. You'll see if it if you look being the plastic panels in the trunk or on the inside of many other body...

Fuel pump compatibility between LHD and RHD car

Thanks all for the input. Based on that I will buy a RHD used fuel pump (which is not only easier to find but also 1/3 in cost). I will post when swapped to confirm it worked (or not).

Fuel pump compatibility between LHD and RHD car

Thanks, apologies I should have mentioned the engine type. It is a turbo diesel 1HD-FT 24 valve. I will also try to find a diesel workshop to ask, thanks.
