At that time I meant no CEL, so I was back to tracing wires. I think if I put 12 v to the red/white wire going to the VAF and it runs correctly, I'm down to wire from ignition switch or switch itself. You are revered as the expert, and I appreciate any input you may have.

Ive decided to put power to red / white at COR plug in the morning. I think that puts power to the air flow meter and may rid me of the ecm error. If that works, then I've narrowed it to the hot wire from the ignition to the COR. Are ignition switches prone to fail while driving down the road...
Another update. Finally got a little time to mess with it. I jumped 12 volts from battery positive to terminals yellow / red and red / green where COR inserts.
Check engine light works as it should when key is turned to on.
Starts and runs, however still wont idle

When battery is jumped to FP I have to keep foot on throttle and hold it above 6-700 or it dies. Am I bypassing the regular circuit to the fuel pump by jumping here, or is that the circuit I need to be looking at. Is there a reputation for a bad bracket above the fuel tank causing a dead short...

Here's an update. Fixed the wire. Still no start. BUT I have a CEL when cranking now. Mind you, not when I turn the key on, but when cranking. Jumped battery to FP terminal in diagnosis port. Starts. Runs rough as a cob and dies if I try to idle it.
