Hi all! Been a while, but have an opportunity to get a factory roof rack for my 1995. PO removed it and sealed with silicone and plastic caps. Can I just clean that silicone out and put the potentially new to me rack in the original place? Will clean up the surface rust and seal prior to install.
Replaced the hydraulic lifts on the rear gate. Looks like I won't be hitting my head this winter! The new ones actually push up the gate after you pull open part way, almost hands-free!
Just got my sticker and shirt yesterday! I've been on Mud since before I bought my 1995 FZJ80 last September; researching wannabe and been lurking on the CSC forum ever since posting occasionally. I was inspired to join after meeting some other members at the northern AZ meeting last Friday...

Have done Vultee Arch road...
Replaced factory springs with OME 861/862; average lift was 1 3/4 inch. I know it will settle down a little, but those factory springs were saggy. Replaced all 4 shocks with KYB Gas a justs (rears were factory with 155k miles!). Fixed wiring issue on stereo from PO.

Looked at the fusible links and I'm going to order a set to replace as PM. The casings are starting to crack, so I imagine failure is in the not too distant future.
Turned out the DOME fuse was popped! All the accessories are back on. Clock doesn't reset, dome lights turn on when they're supposed to, and stereo keeps its memory. Only thing now is that radio doesn't automatically turn off with ignition, so I'll need to check the wiring there. Probably has...
