    CB radios and scanners

Ed HAM's re-tune Firestik's for use on the 10 meter HF band (28 mhz - 29.7 mhz) which is just above the CB band. We are limited to 1500 watts on that band although few run that much power when mobile. So the published 700 watt limit is actually useful data to some of us. Regards -- Eugene

    CB radios and scanners

Magnetic mounts / Firestick 5/8 wave antennas The Firestick uses a standard 3/8" x 24 thread so if you want to use it with a magnetic mount you will need that type of magnetic mount. Additionally the Firestick 5/8 wave CB antenna is a coil around a fiberglass core so it has more wind...

    CB radios and scanners

CB & HAM equipment I wrote up a CB selection page for CLCC.ORG a long time ago: the URL is CLCC: CB Equipment and Selection With CB you really do want an "RF Gain" control if you intend to use the radio for close-distance vehicle to vehicle communication; without the RF Gain control the...

    Club Officer Elections Needed

Sam; Please say more about this. What you would propose is of some interest to me. The reasoning behind your proposal however is OF GREAT INTEREST to me. It should be of interest to everyone that is interested in the survival of CLCC. Perhaps your alusion to the CLCC being a dead horse is...

    Club Officer Elections Needed

Anyone willing to volunteer? I too am not a good candidate for a CLCC officer. I am unable to attend CLCC meetings; at least until September (at the soonest). It would be helpful for the past officers to share a litlle about what the various roles entail and/or what they needed to do...

    '78 fj40 bucking

vacuum & timing The Mallory distributors alway seemed to have a sloppy gear interface which made for iffy advance and timing even when calibrated correctly at idle. Aviod the Mallory units in f/2F' engines. I would do a thorough test for vacuum leaks and considder replacing any...

    Tube bender proposal for club

A foolish purchase for the CLCC. Spending this much Club money on a tool which will be benificial to a small minority of CLCC members seems foolhardy to me. I am not entirely adverse to CLCC owning such a tool. I am opposed to the increased liability which the Club assumes by owning...

    FJ45LV Suspension options

OEM vs OME 45LV Suspension options The OME is the only aftermarket 45LV suspension I can recommend. It is a very nice suspension. The question is will the existing suspension be OK. I liked the suspension on this truck when I was driving it with the exception of the shocks which were...
