I feel so too. I’ve only owned this from 130k miles. So just 45k miles, but one of the main reasons, besides zero rust, was documented 5k mile oil changes.
No crystal ball predictions. Told me to stay the course / keep doing what I’m doing and not even worry about it. I’m gonna try that approach :)
These marks align with the piston skirt, so if I took pics of the other parts, I think everyone would be super impressed about the clear and defined...
That’s what my mechanic said when I showed him. He was impressed with the amount of cross hatch.
I don’t burn oil, no puffs at startup, and this LC has had 5k oil changes its whole life.
I couldn’t find any other posts like this, so wanted to share should anyone else get curious and shove a...
Was curious what 175k miles with oil changes every 5k would look like inside the cylinder.
I was kind of surprised and nervous when I saw some of the vertical marks, but they do not appear to interrupt the crosshatching.
I only looked in cylinder 1 and 2 on the driver side and these pics...
I’ve degreased this a few time and the seepage keeps coming back. Could this be the lower oil pan gasket? 175k miles and about to need an oil change so thinking it would be a good time to tackle it.
I’ve searched and only got ‘heat seater not working’ posts… has anyone experienced a seat heater turning on even though it’s in the ‘off’ position? My driver side is turning on even though I don’t have it selected. :(
Mine kind of doesn’t this on high speed ramps / interstate changes. I have high milage but replaced my suspension with take offs. I also run mostly deflated airbags… could be that. All that to say, I’m watching this post to see suggestions.
What are you trying to do? I have a JL sub in there with 200 watts going to it. It’s plenty loud, but no 10 I guess. I think the Lexus box fits and has a 10 inch opening.
Maybe YouTube then post link?
But we also have a video of this setup I think… was just thinking more the merrier :) this is on my todo list as I already have a hole in my muffler from an impact
Side note, I was thinking of switching to Allstate and asked for an agreed upon value to insure and they will only do it for classic cars under 3k miles a year or something like that :-/
I just put some lower mile tundra wheels on. I have 5 of the original wheels. If anyone would like to come grab them.... free to a good home. I don't want to scap them if anyone can use them
I have 5 wheels from my 08 I just swapped out. Are they worth keeping or should I just scrap? I put some low mile tundra wheels on I think look a bit better.
Tundra wheels
Coming from the LC side of things, I would have to polish and seal my headlights every year or so… but I could never reach all the micro cracks inside the the lens. I just replaced my lenses and should have done it long ago. The difference is massive. Vote for buy one , cry once… if you can...
I have used their dye. A little bit of prep and ‘less is more’ when adding the dye worked well for me. It probably depends on how bad your seats are. It won’t help with deep cracks , but some minor discoloration, it will work well. Definitely get a matte finish if you use it though.
