How to compression test a 1KZ-TE

I blew up the radiator in my 90 series. I would like to perform a compression test to determine the cause. How can I go about doing this on a diesel engine? Thanks!

Replacing just the orange tail light light crystal

Is is possible to purchase just the orange crystal for the tail light? I don't seem to see any for sale but would really like to save money rather than spending 100+ dollars on something that just needs a piece of plastic to fix. Thanks!

1993 FZJ80 BRAKE Light comes on at random intervals while driving.

Hey all, about 2 months ago, my 80 began randomly flashing the red BRAKE dash light. I had recently installed a JVC carplay unit. I don't know if that has anything to do with the light. My brakes feel fine. I have tried fidgeting with the handbrake and the light still turns on. Has anyone else...

    1997 KZJ95 Cranks but won't start

Hey all. I had a radiator blow in my KZJ95. I got it towed back to my place. I went ahead and installed a 4runner radiator. Still need to purchase hose adapters. However, when I try and get the engine to turnover, it won't. It just continuously tries to start. I have tried jumping the battery...

    3rd gen 4runner radiator in a KZJ95

Had a mishap on my way to work driving up a really steep mountain. My radiator in my 95 series blew a hole. Fortunately it is not a head gasket. I am in the U.S. and I am wondering if I could use a 3rd gen 4runner radiator as a replacement in my KZJ95. I really wouldn't want to have to get one...

    95 series top speed?

I know the 95 series (1kz) is far from any speed demon. However, on my way back from college, I had a nice stretch of road and wanted to give the turbo diesel a rip. I managed to hit 175 kmh on the dash, which is quite a bit higher than the listed 160 kmh top speed. Anyone else have similar...

[USA] KZJ95 vs FZJ80, which one would you sell? The hardest decision of my life!

I am at a dilemma. I have a love for the LandCruiser, they are the only vehicles I have ever owned. However, with stock market and crypto in the dumpster, and cruiser prices still holding strong, I want to sell a cruiser and buy the dip. Not to mention gas and diesel prices have gone through the...

1KZ-TE maintenance in the U.S. - Need timing belt changed.

Hello fellow 90 series owners! I took delivery of my KZJ95 a little less than 2 months ago. I have been slowly taking care of baselining. Spending most of my time changing ball joints, suspension, and taking care of surface rust. However, the biggest issue that still needs to be addressed is...

    Selling an FZJ80 for a 200 Series/LX570

Wassup MUD, 4 years ago, I was looking for my first car. I was able to find a local man selling a clean, unlocked, 180k miles '93 FZJ80 for 4,000 dollars. I bought it, have daily driven it and put another 30k miles on the clock. I love this truck, it has been very reliable. However I have been...

FZJ80 died while idling for 10 minutes and has been shifting slow recently

For the last month my 80 has been shifting a little slower, I didn't think much of it since the 80s aren't known for their fast shifting, but yesterday, I put my car in park and left the AC running while I was waiting for someone. About 10 minutes of keeping the car in park the RPMs started...

Where to buy bolts for 80 series Land Cruiser front recovery points for ARB bumper

Bought an ARB Bumper a while back, took it off to install a winch, and lost 2 of the 4 bolts for the front recovery points. Looked all over the shop and couldn't seem to find them, they must have ended up in the trash. Went to some local hardware stores to try to find bolts for them, I wasn't...

Banjo bolt leaking on main fuel line

Car wasn't starting consistently, narrowed it down to a faulty fuel pump. Changed the fuel pump, when I went to reinstall the Banjo bolt for the fuel line after changing pump, it leaks. Do I need a new banjo bolt and crush washers or can I just get some rubber orings to try to seal it?

Changing IAC O-Ring and adjusting the TPS Sensor without a multimeter

Had a light rough idle on my 1993 80 series took it to a mechanic and he narrowed it down to the IAC, specifically the O-Ring. He recommended that I fix the issue myself by ordering the part. He also recommended me to change the TPS sensor on my car because the one that came with it was not OEM...

Only changing out front shocks and springs to support winch

Hi! I have an '93 80 series with an ARB Deluxe bull bar everything else is stock. I need a winch not so much for recovery right now but for pulling brush and pulling roots out of the ground. Could I change out just the front shocks with these FOX shocks: 1989-1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Fox 2.0...

    80 Series Poor Gas Mileage

Hi! I bought a 93 FZJ80 about a month ago. The truck is bone stock but it is getting 7 MPG in the city. I changed the air filter and intake hose that had dry rotted and it went from 5 MPG to 7 MPG. I didn't see any fuel tank leaks. Other than dirty air filters and a leaky fuel tank what are...

1993 FZJ80 rumbles when decelerating and locks up when making a sharp turn

Hey! I just got an 80 series Land Cruiser last week. Yesterday I wanted to check the air filter. I took out the air filter it seemed clean, I put it back in. Fast forward to today I was driving to work and the car had a slight rumble when braking. I then had to make a sharp turn into the...
