ya, go with S. Korean. We don’t HAVE to have logos on every piece either. In fact, too much logo placement can be a bad thing.

    Avoiding the stink bug

Yep, practicality is a thing, but every time you walk up to the vehicle in the mall parking lot you’ll say “damn, I should have gotten 35s” :). And then eventually you will, and will have spent $1k+ on 33s you wish you never bought. That’s a lot of gas miles to make up.

These kind of responses are so annoying. Because it’s his money and he wants to. Period.

    Avoiding the stink bug

OME nitros ride good IMO. I’ve never had any passengers say it rides harsh. I have heavy front and medium rear. Front is arb w/winch, rear is 4x4labs with tire carrier. Sits almost level, still a slight bit of stinkbug when unloaded. I’ve been quite happy with this setup although I haven’t...

Joe Rogan's FZJ80 build by Jonathan Ward (ICON)

I think we are biting troll bait, but can’t resist... let’s say he got a deal at $100/hr for shop time. That’s still $300K in labor alone.

    Do my brakes need work?

I would assume so, it's new. Under normal driving the truck stops fine and I don't notice anything unusual. It's really only on very steep downhills (like a 15% driveway), mashing the pedal quickly at slow speeds, and emergency stopping kind of situations where it just doesn't seem to have the...

    Do my brakes need work?

thanks all. Tire size is ~34 (BFG 295s). The work was done before I got the vehicle so I’m not sure about most of it. They certainly may not be OEM pads/rotors although the master cycling is Aisin. And no, I haven’t bled anything myself yet. I will look into the ABS delete, ensure at least...

    Do my brakes need work?

I’m struggling to decide if I need do to some brake work or if this is just normal behavior for a loaded up 80? If I’m rolling through my neighborhood at 2-3 mph and then stomp on the brakes hard, the truck takes a good 5ft to stop. There have been a few cases where I started to roll through a...

Help with occasional grinding noise, cured by pressing gas

I’ve got a 97 and getting an occasional grinding noise coming from somewhere in the front part of the drivetrain. From previous searches I was thinking that it is dry spindle bushings, but the noise goes away when I give it some gas, which I wouldn’t expect??? with spindle bushings? Here are...
