I'm not aware of anyone still running with a CB...at least in our group. Ran into a jeep group a few years ago running CB's. Ham radios like the Baofe g mentioned above technically requires a license (easy to get one) to use. Many don't get the license, which I personally disagree with.
I've run sections of this trail. Good fun and not technical. Area where General Patton set up tank training for WWII. Nice little museun on Patton at the summit.
Saw an article this morning about the December release being delayed. Toyota has not secured their mileage certification yet and therefore can't ship to dealers yet! Plenty manufactured and sitting waiting down in Mexico.
Will wait for the TRD Pro and Trailhunter in the spring. Probably about the time the new Landcruiser and GX550 will arrive. One of those 4 will replace my beloved 1994 Landcruiser.
35 miles with last half right in the teeth of heavy off shore Santa Ana winds and gusts. Not fun
Same stretch outbound with the wind we cruised at 21mph. Inbound we worked our tails off to maintain 14mph.
Looking forward to a little 25 mile charity ride for pancreatic cancer this weekend. Great cause and we get to ride thru the Point Loma Naval submarine base up to the Cabrillo monument.
