Swapped out the gaudy and obnoxious chrome 20" wheels with fake beadlocks that the previous thought was a good idea for stock wheels from a 2016+ 200 Series and KO2s. Ahhhhhhhhhhh, much better.
Just checking to see if any of you have swapped wheels with a 200 Series Land Cruiser and had any issues with fitting them. Not a huge fan of the more readily available 18" Tundra wheels and the jabroni that owned my 2015 Sequoia replaced the platinum 20 inchers (which I could have stomached)...
It was coolant, picking up a little bit of oil somewhere along the way. Sorry, responded in another thread that I forgot to set a spring clip. All leaking stopped after that.
Hmm, I am cautiously optimistic.... I found this other thread from @WRP2 that had coolant coming out of the same panel, turned out to be something at the throttle body. I had my throttle body off for cleaning and sealing when I put in the radiator and, lo and behold, I had forgotten a spring...
Think I'm in the same boat as the rest of the people here.... Just had the truck into the shop for an oil change and general checkup, wonder if they maybe changed up the oil from high mileage... It wasn't there before.
They found some leaks in the radiator and thermostat during that visit, so I...
Okay, I'm on board with you guys, thanks! I figured it was coolant since it was red and that's what I was just working on... Jumped the gun. I checked the transmission fluid level (cold) and it is waaaay overfilled. I had it into the shop right before this - they were the ones that told me the...
Edit: I overhauled this thread for the sake of correctness. Thought I was seeing coolant, is either transmission fluid or oil. Still have a leak regardless. Was recently in the shop for a diagnostic on a bum radiator (plus oil change, general checkup) by a highly respected garage in SLC. Checked...
That was the tough thing. That's where my leak was and the threads were covered in coolant crusties. I could easily convince myself it was some kind of sealant in the threads, but I'm also not entirely sure either.
Goodness, tracking down information on this thing is harder than I thought it would be. It's brass so I'm not going to going to go nuts with the torque, but I'm thinking that some high temp thread sealer is in order since that's where I had my leak the first time around....
Hey @2001LC just bringing this thread out of the depths of IH8MUD to see how you reconciled the manifold thermostat. I had a leak on mine at the threads so I picked up a new one, just seeing if you remember how you put yours back together (torque specs, thread sealant)... Since it's a part...
Had a coolant leak at this thing, looks to be in okay condition but want to see if I can just get a new one too. Any idea what it is? It's got "teq" and "kuzeh" stamped on it with a temperature (83F/9C). Any ideas? 99 LC. Thanks!
Is the front skid/under cover still around and in decent shape? I'm getting at my radiator this weekend and mine is falling apart! Saw you ad on KSL too, also in Millcreek...
About 170k. Might end up with a new throttle body regardless, but I'll try this first.
What do you mean "do not use extensions"? For the socket? Putting on or taking off?
Alas I live in cold weather...
But that's good to know. I've been looking around to see if that threaded plug is sold separately anywhere and coming up empty. Might have to just take it off and see if I can clean it up...
I've got a leaking radiator and perhaps thermostat (on the word of my mechanic, but I haven't found where exactly), but I noticed I've got some leakage below the throttle body. Any ideas where it is actually coming from? Thanks!
Photo is oriented from the fan shroud, looking under the throttle...
