Hi all,
So people may call me crazy, but I am swapping my fj60 that I got with a 350 swap in it back to a 2f. My first problem to solve is the fact that the PO cut the stock motor mounts out so they could put in the staggered ones for the 350. I have a '75 FJ55 that is getting a 350 and am...
Heck yea man! I just put a holley sniper on my 2f in my 71 40, living in Alaska and being able to lean into the truck at 0 degrees and just touch the key to start it is amazing! I have a Specter off road header on my motor, but I wouldn't be surprised if everything is basically a plug and play...
I am not sure if it will mate to the 3 speed, you may need some sort of an adapter, we put a 4 speed trans into my 71. If I remember right the motor should drop in for the most part, you may need to transfer the motor mounts from the 1f to the 2f. Also, depending on what you get a 2f out of you...
I just recently started working on The Bob again in the last couple of weeks, I struggled getting it to run properly with the carb I purchased. So last week I took the leap and put a Holley Sniper EFI kit on it. Let me tell you, the kit is worth its weight in gold! The truck runs better than...
This part of the build I moved the cruiser from my grandfathers shop up to my parents house. After the spring flop and getting the cruiser moved (which with only the rear drum brakes it was a little sketchy getting it on a trailer), I took a break from it for a while. I did however clean her up...
So the next part of the build was to mount the radiator and other engine bay necessities, such as getting a new carb and running all my linkages. Also, I had to get the trans tunnel to fit with the dual stick conversion for the T-case. We were also running hydro boost and Chevy power steering so...
Alright folks, I am pretty new to this forum gang, but I feel like after looking at a lot of cool FJ40 threads I couldn't leave mine out. I have a 1971 FJ40 that has a pretty awesome back story. I started this build in Spring of 2018, but the story starts well before then. My family has done mud...
This past week I installed a Sniper EFI kit to my '71 40, ran my front brake lines, planned out shock mounts and where to weld my new ones, and pulled all the crap out from inside it so I can actually work on the thing.
I took more of a look at it earlier today and am probably just gonna throw a different carb on it because like brian said my firewall doesn't have the holes in the correct spot. I appreciate the help!
I am currently putting a 1975 2f out of a 55 into my 1971 40 and have ran into the problem of my throttle linkage. I honestly can't rap my head around how I am gonna line anything up and connect it as nothing at the moment is anywhere near lined up. Any help is appreciated!
