I'm assuming it's too far away- seeing as I'm closer to Alaska than I am the lower 48, but I'm selling my '92 VX Limited 80 series: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/grande-prairie/1992-vx-limited-toyota-landcruiser/1418882013?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

    Chasing electrical gremlins

Brilliant thank you! they're aftermarket gauges, an AFR and a Volt Meter (installed ironically because the batteries kept dying) I pulled them and tested them with my booster pack that has a tester, whether this is accurate or not I'm sure can be discussed, I don't have a different battery...

    Chasing electrical gremlins

Apologies! the batteries are reading 11.4 and 11.8 volts. I'm running North Star, they're around a year old. Paid way too much for them so I'm really hoping they're not dead. When I have time I might do what you suggested and pull all the accessories. It's just really strange to me that these...

    Chasing electrical gremlins

Yeah 24v. My rookie brain understanding is that it needs 18v to start, otherwise just a parallel 24v system.

    Chasing electrical gremlins

They're parallel, just the stock dual battery setup from Toyota, I should mention it's a 1HDT JDM 80 series. I'll have to check out Blueseas as well

    Chasing electrical gremlins

With a battery switch, you mean like a master kill switch? I'm running dual batteries so could I run a single one off the primary battery or should I run one switch per battery. Thanks for the idea!

    Overfuelling/EGT issues

Just a follow up (in case anyone is still watching!) I dialed the fuel back quite a bit- increased the boost to 14.5 after turning the master screw at least half a turn, then the star wheel down to the bottom, 30 clicks up, and was good to go. I was still getting into fuel cutoff on big hills...

    Chasing electrical gremlins

Hey everyone, Quick background before my issue, my batteries have not been holding a charge and we've hand constant issues of being left dead on the trail the last month or so, getting frustrated I assumed it was either batteries that were no good or an alternator (the belt is slipping, a...

Who the hell are you? ( intros )

Thanks! I get working in the busy season- feels like I'm always in that season. There is a Prado up here as well, but I haven't had a chance to talk to the owner. I'm actually North East of Teepee Creek but figured to make it easier I'd say GP ;) Here's a few pictures of Balthasar:

    Overfuelling/EGT issues

I have not- I'm going to research how to do that now, after reading the entire 67 page thread, I'm a bit more confident- however still feel like I don't know what I'm doing! I was thinking of doing what @IanB did and take one of the washers out to allow for the aneroid pin to travel further, and...

    Overfuelling/EGT issues

Thanks for that- ironically I just got to page 29- I was starting to wonder how much info was buried there as it started to go a bit into other things. I'll keep browsing- motivated to get it figured out of course, just annoyed that I had to quit for the day! as you said, it could be a process...

    Overfuelling/EGT issues

Well I'm at a bit of a loss- I have the star wheel set perfectly, when I go to adjust the fuel it seems it's either the same problem as before, or at one point I wasn't even getting above 900 rpm when WOT and obviously I was crawling along. Will have to do more troubleshooting tomorrow, gotta...

    Overfuelling/EGT issues

So with full travel I should see a mark along the pin the whole ramp, and obviously not up onto the cut off. Off boost he's good- it's on boost above 80 there is very little acceleration. Air filter is brand new and I've unhooked the snorkel for these runs. I guess it's back to adjusting and...

    Overfuelling/EGT issues

So bit of an update, I feel like I'm on the right path, I pulled the aneroid and dialed it back to about halfway, the pin is riding right on the shallowest profile- EGTs are still rising but not at the terrifyingly quick rate they did before. I maxed out at 1200F, 13 psi at 80 kph. Now the one...

Who the hell are you? ( intros )

Hey everyone, Looks like it's been quite sometime since the last post here so hopefully people are still active- my name is Paul, I live just north east of Grande Prairie, I've had a 1993 1HDT 80 series for around 2 years now, just trying to get it tuned up so I can go play again. Would love to...

    Overfuelling/EGT issues

Yeah as soon as I hit 1200 sustained I get anxious, previous owner said 1400 transient for a few seconds max, but I get really uncomfortable at 1200 even, so no worries I don't run that hot- it's off throttle as soon as it spikes.
