    .. keep or sell my 97 LX, 260k ?

I was using this as my daily driver for years and finally bought a newer sedan. This is 260k, mostly stock, without diff locks. Fair condition. I always dreamt of keeping it as an extra vehicle that I could have fun with but I'm reconsidering. For my off roading needs our newer 4 runner...

Noticed this loose piece sitting on the skid plate/ splash guard. Could this be the idler backing plate?

Tightened the belt and the the clicking decreased significantly. Noticed a nick in the belt about 1 inch long. Would that be worth replacing?

UPDATE: Checked system pressure and it was low. Added the R134a and it's blowing cold air. BUT, we still have the loud clicking noise when it's engaged. In the video this starts at 0:08 on the timer. Looking at the engaged clutch closer, it spins wobbly and rough while engaged. When not...

Could this be an axel seal? (pics attached)

Maybe I pay the mechanic to do the one bad seal. Stop the bleeding. When time frees up I then do the full front end rebuild.

Ok. Calling around. Christo and Robbie are too far at this point. I want to be very specific on what I have the shop do. What am I asking to have done specifically?

Could this be an axel seal? (pics attached)

Unfortunately I'm gonna have to pay someone to do this. Work and everything is crazy busy to tackle this myself right now.

Could this be an axel seal? (pics attached)

What do I tell the mechanic to do exactly? Front axel rebuild? Anything I can do in the meantime to keep it rollin? Really wish I knew someone in Denver that wanted to earn some extra cash to do this for me, anyone interested?

Smoke coming from DS front wheel. Could this be an axel seal? See pics. How long can I drive it like this?

    Halloween horrors - electrical advice

Yes, I'm a little disappointed. I was expecting more help on this thread over the last 4 days. Maybe the holiday weekend kept people away from mud. Unfortunately I ran out of time.

    Halloween horrors - electrical advice

Finally gave up and took it to a shop here in Denver. 3 hours @ $110 and all they could figure out was it's somewhere between the Brake Switch and the Brake Lamp. Their solution: run new wires to bypass this and make them work.

May have found the culprit. These plugs are not looking clean at all. Pic is facing engine compartment. Left rear (PS).

(Real Time) Quick part ID request

Pic is facing engine compartment. Left rear (PS). Any idea what this wiring harness is for? There are 2 connected and a 3rd hanging loose.

    Halloween horrors - electrical advice

Pulled the brake switch and tested it. Used a paperclip jumper as someone suggested. It immediately blew the fuse. I knew because of one of those light up fuses. Replaced the fuse and continued testing. It tested good and never blew the fuse again but still no brake lights. I'm seeing posts...

    Halloween horrors - electrical advice

Hello! Still no brake lights but some progress: all signals and flashers seem to be operating normally now and not getting stuck in the on position. I 'm not hearing the clicking from the shift interlock . No more door open flashing. Nothing sticks out to me as to why these things have...

    Halloween horrors - electrical advice

Excellent advice. I will be checking the items suggested by mingles. As a matter of fact jonheld, the last time I had the safelight tech (now known as the safelight apes) out to replace windshield, they said too much rust but they're the only ones who've been in there in the last five...
