    I am still having this problem. Gauge seems to be fine, replaced the wiring as suggested, and changed the sender unit. My gauge still reads about 3/4 full when full and empty when only half empty. Did anyone have any luck fixing this?

    True. But I guess the paint is ok in the areas without friction. In my old springs, big flakes of rust feel of in between the leaves, causing them to bend.

    Hmmm.. I am about to install split seats instead of my bench, but I also like to sleep in the car. Is the difference in length really that large? Perhaps you can measure it when the seats are folded up? Then I will measure mine with the bench seat folded.

    It is the loops that the seats latch onto. These are bolted onto the floor. I can´t find a photo of one.
