What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Follow up to finding a huge mouse nest in my engine bay and a vacuum switch cable chewed off. Finally back and able to take a closer look. The mice apparently only ate through the plug and cable. The switch itself appears to be fine. So I ordered a new plug and will try to splice the cable back...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

I’ll have to check things when I get back, but so far it looks like the vacuum switch is the only casualty. 🤞

    My First 100 Series

Congratulations! Looks great, but it could look even better… So… when are you taking the running boards off? 😃

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Last week my check engine light came on with a P0441 error (Evap ECS incorrect purge flow) and I checked the gas cap and reset the code as the truck is running fine: idle sounds normal, no loss of power, no fuel smell. Then I found a dead mouse under my truck. Thought that was odd and moved on...

Tailgate Rust Around License Plate Lights

That doesn't look bad at all. Mine was much worse when I bought my 2003, and all I did was spray some Rust-Oleum up into the tailgate and over the surface. It's been 4-5 years now, and the rust has not gotten any worse, so I must have lucked out. Now if my O2 sensor would just stop blowing...

    Sunroof acting up

Decided I should try to realign it. Removed the trim, undid the four bolts, and had the glass out. Probably the easiest thing I’ve ever done to the truck. (Yeah, I need to clean up what’s left of the cheap masking tape.) Anyway, there was maybe 1 to 2 millimeters of space to move the glass...

    Sunroof acting up

Thanks again @dbfw. It has rained heavily (even had a little hail,) the last few days, and not a single bit of moisture made it inside the truck. I’m contemplating removing the bolts and getting the glass out so I can check the drains, or taking a chance and trying to open it. Given there was...

    Sunroof acting up

@dbfw, thank you for this! I am going to read through that. So, I went to the glass guy this morning. We examined the seal and it was loose (separated from the glass) only in the rear section where that seam is, about six to eight inches on either side of the gap. He cleaned it all up and...

    Sunroof acting up

Thanks for your suggestions, everyone. A local mechanic I trust with the truck suggested a glass guy he always uses and after speaking with him he agreed to have a look. I do have some pictures from when it originally happened. I can provide more, but it’s currently raining and I don’t want to...

    Sunroof acting up

About a month ago, while on a family trip, I decided it was warm enough to open the sunroof, on my 2003 LC. It retracted a few inches, and then would stop and close. So I tilted it up to have a look at what was going on, and although it looked fine, it wouldn’t close properly; the rear of the...

Less aggressive, more "road oriented" AT tires...

I went with Continental TerrainContact AT tires when I first got my LC 2-3 years ago. They have been great in lots of road conditions, including snow, ice, rain, mud, dirt, trails, and beach driving. They are also great on the highway and around town.

YotaMD Titanium Integrated Remote Key Fob Shell

Nice! I got the lime green for my primary key when I first got my LC, as I figured it would be the easiest to spot if I dropped my key somewhere. I’ve never dropped or lost my key, BTW. A few months ago I ordered a red shell for my second key. I wanted purple, but it was unavailable at the...

    Sunroof leak

@dbfw thank you for your reply! I was wondering if some sort of sealant could be used to address the leak. I will read through that thread. Ahh! You can’t replace just the seal? $750 for the entire glass panel? Ugh. What sealant did you use if you don’t mind me asking? What was the process you...

    Sunroof leak

Out on a short trip with family. Went to open the sunroof and it would not slide back. It’s getting caught up maybe an inch or so sliding back. I’m able to close it though. So I tried to tilt it up instead, and that worked fine at least. But when I went to close it, the rear rubber seal is...

Rear lift/tail gate weather stripping part numbers?

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll double check that. BTW: I believe I’ve found the right part. For anyone else who might ever look for it: Weatherstrip - Toyota (67881-60111)

Rear lift/tail gate weather stripping part numbers?

Thanks! I’ll try that. No luck looking through the service manuals.

Got into a minor accident with my truck and insurance says it’s a total loss.

Just an update on my truck post repair from the accident. It’s been running great, no issues at all. The only minor thing is that the steering wheel isn’t perfectly centered anymore, but really it’s not a big deal. Still amazed at the crap I had to go through with the insurance company, and...

Rear lift/tail gate weather stripping part numbers?

Hi folks, I’ve posted in the past that I have a leak in the rear lift gate (top left,) which is only a problem when going through the car wash. I’ve been meaning to order new weather stripping, and I’ve already sealed the upper break light and that wasn’t the issue apparently. Problem is...

    What tools for road trip?

I swear, every time I load the mud forums, I buy something. Going on a family trip next week and I just ordered one of these to replace the cheap little kit I have in there. I don’t think I will pick up the deep sockets, unless you also have a recommendation for a set, @AlpineAccess. At least...
