    Vacuum Engine Isolator Purpose - 4.5 V8 Diesel (1VD)

Thank you. That’s very useful information. I guess now we look and see if the vacuum pump on my car is the same as the higher spec cars and if it’s possible to plumb the vacuum lines in.

    Vacuum Engine Isolator Purpose - 4.5 V8 Diesel (1VD)

Thanks. Still trying to work out whether it makes it more rigid at speed than the non-vacuum assisted one, and in turn softer when stationary.

    Vacuum Engine Isolator Purpose - 4.5 V8 Diesel (1VD)

It’s undrivable at the moment with the broken mount. I’m in a hire car as the 200 is my daily driver. I’ll have both mounts side by side tomorrow to check. The photos I have from the supplier look identical to the one that’s come off. Both oil filled/hydraulic.

    Vacuum Engine Isolator Purpose - 4.5 V8 Diesel (1VD)

Yeah, I’ve also been researching for the past week while trying to get my head around a four week lead time for new mounts without vacuum lines. One possibility is that as the speed increases and vacuum pressure increases, it stiffens up the mounts to make them more rigid at higher speeds...

    Vacuum Engine Isolator Purpose - 4.5 V8 Diesel (1VD)

So, my engine mounts are shot. My car is a G spec 200 with a 1VD and manual box. Bare bones, UN spec, but it seems this bring some challenges. The engine mounts on my car are oil filled but have no vacuum tubing. These mounts are only specifically fitted to my spec of vehicle, which is rare...

Bare Bones 200 Series V8 Diesel w/ manual box

Nice looking HU that one, but I’ve got the single DIN with the floating screen (Halo). Available just under $1,000 USD, which is comparable to the android unit that EC Offroad supply, but in my opinion, far better quality.

Bare Bones 200 Series V8 Diesel w/ manual box

Maybe they’re more expensive in the US? This was just over $1,000 here, which seems cheaper than most of the alternatives on offer from Australia specifically for the 200 (which also have questionable quality).

Bare Bones 200 Series V8 Diesel w/ manual box

Progress is being made on the 200 to make it more comfortable and slightly more capable as a daily and weekend weapon. Upgraded to Recaro Specialist front seats and installed some new 60/40 split rear seats in the back with ISOFIX (original was a single bench) Had the rear seats retrimmed to...

    200 Series Drawers/Sleeping Platform

I’ll drop you a message for weight and dimensions, if that’s ok?

    200 Series Drawers/Sleeping Platform

Thanks. I’m pretty sure it’s as wide as my Hercules roof which we just did 10 weeks in around Europe, so a few nights here and there ain’t gonna hurt.

    200 Series Drawers/Sleeping Platform

Thanks. I wasn’t sure if there was a supporting frame. Now just need to work on logistics of how it could be shipped to the UAE

    200 Series Drawers/Sleeping Platform

Good point. At the moment I only have a fixed rear bench (UN spec) so haven’t measured up inside. I’ve picked up a set of 60/40 split seats I’ll install before I look at the rear set up.

    200 Series Drawers/Sleeping Platform

I guess you could say hidden in plain sight. Missed that one. Does the second row fold flat but not forward, the ln the platform extends and sits on top, without the need for any bracing underneath? Any photos that f the set up through the passenger doors? Everything on your site only shows...

    200 Series Drawers/Sleeping Platform

I wasn’t sure whether to post this in 200, Overland or Camping thread, but thought I’d give it a go here. I’m looking for (and have searched these forums) ideas for building a set of rear drawers that can be extended forwards in to a sleeping platform. I want to keep the second row in-situ...

Bare Bones 200 Series V8 Diesel w/ manual box

It’s registered and finally on the road. Changed all filters, fluids and driveline rubber components. New wheel bearings, ball joints and removed all the Omani company speed limiters and wiring. Now the fun starts. Picked up some Recaro experts for the front and a 60/40 split rear seat...

    LC 200 FRONT SEATS UPGRADE

You can get airbag, heated and cooled Recaros, but they definitely aren’t cheap. I’ve just gone for Recaro Experts in my base model 2013 (no airbags or cooling/heating to worry about) and fabbing up brackets as we speak. Having had aftermarket seats in two Land Cruisers now, I cannot go back...

Bare Bones 200 Series V8 Diesel w/ manual box

Happy to talk 70 series, where I have far more experience than these 200’s, however the suspension isn’t fitted yet and first chance I’ll get to drive it will likely be March, at the earliest.

Bare Bones 200 Series V8 Diesel w/ manual box

Currently being upgraded to smart coils (been running dobinson coils until now) and from 300-500kg parabolic up to 500-700kg. From what I’ve heard, the 700+ are overkill for anything other than armoured.

Bare Bones 200 Series V8 Diesel w/ manual box

Catching up. Picked the car up from Muscat yesterday and covered 550km bringing it back to Dubai. Drove very well with no issues, no concerns, no alarm bells ringing, which was nice in an unknown car in 44º c heat. I’ll get a full baseline done. Although it drives nice, I’m replacing all...

Bare Bones 200 Series V8 Diesel w/ manual box

These are the seats I’m planning to install. Need to work out best solution for brackets first. I’ll get some matching fabric and retrim the rear seats when I find a 60/40 bench.
