Is everyone running the standard .020 step in their flywheel or are you going bigger?
I was reading on Marlin's forum and it looks like some guys are running .025 - .026 for better "holding power".... :hhmm:
Stepped flywheel resurface
So a little background....
My wife wanted to take the long weekend and drive down to her grandma's house. Since grandpa died last year, nobody has done any maintenance on the house so I had a little "honey-do" list to take care of.
We live in Vancouver, WA and her grandma in San Jose...
Mr. Woodster,
I Noticed you moved the motorcycle forum over to a new home. Is there any way you can keep it the regular mud colors just in the motorcycle forum? It's easier on my eyes to tell if I've already been in a thread with the brown/tan than the green/gray.
If I'm being a vag, let me...
I'll combine these two since there's really nothing to the battery upgrade other than the mounting, and you can see them in the same pics as the fuse block.
The original battery had two "hot" wires out. One fused, one not. I wanted to add a plug in for a hard wired battery charger, outlet...
I had a good wrenching weekend on the 90.
Started with the rectifier.
Took the old vintage 70's one out, took it apart and replaced it with the Radio Shack 25A, 50V Full-Wave Bridge Rectifier
I bent the spade tabs so it would fit on the original mount. I wanted it solid. At first I...
So I went down to Walmart today (on Dieseldog's '84 CT110 of course:D) and bought a one gallon gas can with the fancy spout for my CT90.
On the way home, I was thinking of what I could make a carrier out of. It needed to be something I had laying around the garage. You'll see in the pics that...
Here's the story,
I bought this 12-13 years ago. Cost me $399.95 I'll remember that forever because I was so excited to buy my own Stihl. :D
I didn't use it for a few years, didn't winterize it.... usual bone head stuff. Anyways, it started running crappy a couple of years ago, wouldn't...
So here we go. I'll see how many posts I can turn this into.
Here's the points and the backing plate. You don't need to take the points off to take the points backing plate off you just need to take the points lead off.
There are just two screws holding the points backing plate in...
I want to mount the brake controller today, and was wondering where they are located for those of you who have them in your 80.
I bought the prodigy brake controller.
Here's where I was thinking:
The first place is 60º, the directions said not to go over 70º, so I'm good there...

What's the pipe that runs across my exhaust manifold & ties into it across the top?
I want to install a header this weekend & want to know if I can just plug it off, or if it needs to stay.
Thanks
Hey all,
I'm in need of a tow hitch for my wife's 80. I'd like to find one in the greater Portland area, or greater Spokane area as I will be driving up there in a few weeks. I'd rather pick it up cause I'm a cheap bastard and don't want to pay shipping;)
Have any of you had luck teaching your dog to crap in one "area" ?
What's the best method?
We don't have a huge back yard and with my wife doing day-care out of the house, it gets to be a pain in the ass keeping up with the crap. We don't want to send the kids home with their shoes...
I'll be heading to Spokane from the portland area, so if anyone needs anything (within reason) delivered let me know. I'll be pulling my 5x8 trailer and it will be about 1/2 full. I'm leaving friday the 16th early afternoon and heading for home Sunday the 18th late morning.

So, Saturday morning I'm going to a class in Tualatin, OR from my house in Vancouver, WA. About a 25 mile drive, takes around 1/2 hour or so, depends on traffic in downtown Portland.
Cruising about 70 on a section of road that's concrete, which because of the expansion joints every 15-20...
What do you guys use to keep track of when you do pm or regular scheduled maint.
I'd like to start keeping a record other than around that time of year this was done and about this many miles that was done....

Does anyone know if the York cares what rpm it's running...obviously not 10 or 10,000 :flipoff2: I've searched with no avail. I've read about people using them for shop supply with electric motors driving them, and other threads where they say you shouldn't engage them when your rig is running...
Well, it looks like I'll be heading up to Spokane for the new years weekend. I'll be bringing along my trusty little 5'x8' trailer, so if anyone needs anything transported to or from, let me know.
As it is right now, we will be leaving early Friday 4:00 -- 5:00 am and be heading for home...
