I do plan on getting a WD hitch once i buy a travel trailer. But trying to see what upgrades/modifications make sense to prepare for towing. So your having to fill up about every 2 - 2 1/2 hrs give or take? Have you thought of getting an aux fuel...
That is better then I expected. I get 9 mpg city and 13-14 mpg hwy non towing. Was expecting much worst. what range do you get between fill ups? Do you have a long range tank?
I want to buy a travel trailer around 7k weight, trying to see what upgrades to the cruiser makes the most sense...
I appreciate the responses. But wait there's more lol.
Ok so does having steel front and rear bumpers and side steps affect the amount you can tow?
Also before installing front and rear bumpers I was getting about 13 city 16-17 hwy. After installation I get 9 city and 13-14 hwy.
Realistically...
So thats where I'm confused, the Gross vehicle weight rating of the Land Cruiser is 7,275 lbs. But the max towing weight is 8,500.
So when i'm looking to tow a trailer do I look at the GVWR of the trailer i'm looking to tow or the Unit Base Weight (with LP and Batteries) of 5,600 LBS of the...
I'm looking into getting a 25 travel trailer that has a Unit Base Weight (with LP and Batteries) of 5,600 LBS and Maximum Trailer Capacity (GVWR) (lbs.) of 7,300. From what I've seen online the 200 series has 8,500 -8,600 max trailer weight capacity. I've been reading through this thread and...
I had the brake rotors and shoes replaced about 2 yrs ago with DBA rotors and pads. I'll check but they should still good. Honestly the vibration is coming from the front driver side and has been getting worst the last few months, which I had accredited to my aggressive MT tires, but saw on...
forgot about the 251ft-lb torque wrench. I'm going to try and re-use as much as I can. I feel like I can open a mechanic shop with all the tools I have accumulated since buying the Land Cruiser.
Thanks for the advise, I didn’t know there was such a tool. How easy was it using the tool to determine which bearing it was and having off road tires?
From the feel of the noise I’m fairly certain it’s the driver side bearing but due to the mileage on the vehicle think it would be wise to...
I had the CVs replaced last year so I should be good there.
How was the front bearing replacement? did you require any additional specialty tools besides the floor press?
Thanks I checked and for both fronts its about $336.
How was the process for the front wheel bearings? any hang-ups? anything I should be prepared for?
The CVs i had replaced last yr so I should be good.
I hadn’t thought about that to be honest, I’ll need to check when I get a chance but if they are prone to rust, it might be a good idea for me to just go ahead and replace them too. Thanks for point that part out.
My truck has 204k miles on it, and i'm starting to think the noise i had attributed to my MT tires is actually the wheel bearing. With the miles on the truck, i think its a good enough idea to just go ahead and replace the bearings before they get any worst. I have a harbor Freight 20-ton shop...
Did we ever find out what was causing this issue? I'm having the same issue at hwy speeds when i hit a bump and have the vehicle loaded down. The rear end starts to sway.
I have Icon suspension springs and shocks, not sure if it might be the spring rate or something else.
i have a 2008 land cruiser, when I installed it, the harness for my vehicle had a yellow RCA cable that said camera, when you plug the other yellow RCA connector to it, it should work with your stock backup camera.
this system came with a shock sensor and a flash stick to record any impacts to the vehicle. But I do agree with you. Without a face it would be hard to prove who did it without a doubt.
Have it all wired up and finally calibrated. I have to say I love this 360 feature. Took me 4 days to install and that was only due to raining everyday here in Florida.
I pinched the reverse camera on my tire swing out and severed the signal. But the manufacturer responded quickly and sent me a...
