I had a similar scenario on my 77. Cleaned the lines, checked evap canister, everything looked fine. Finally fixed the issue by replacing my gas cap - it wasn't properly venting and caused a backup of fumes in the cab.
This stuff is great to wrapping up harness loose ends as well.
I bought some from Crutchfield when installing fog lights and some other wiring:
Scosche EXTAPE
I saw what looks like an equivalent item on Amazon, FYI (haven't tried the Amazon version, though):

I had the same trouble as many have had with the black sealant / cement not working. The glue loved to stick to the doors but the weatherstripping - not so much. I peeled all the stripping off and removed as much as the old black cement as possible. Next, based on advice from others here on...
I had some wacky issues with the signals. Tried the flasher, ground wires, connectors. Ended up being some corroded contacts on the connector to the relay.

I'm using the Procar seats too. No problem with seat height for the passenger side above the gas tank - from what I can see (and from what my wife and son say - although they have more issues with my driving than the seats I'm guessing...)
Fastenal has a good collection. Here's some of their 7/16 x 20 bolts.
They have several local shops as well. I've been to one of their nearby locations several times for various springs, bolts, spacers trying to fab FJ40 stuff. Good collection in store and online.
Stripped, blasted, powder coated OEM Jack. Thanks to @kevos37 for supplying the jack.
