FJ80 CDL Help. *Solved* Stupidest Reason!

I was finally off from my 4 day 12hr night shift stretch. So I had time to dive back into figuring out what’s wrong with my CDL. Obviously from my previous post I went down the steps of diagnosing the problem except 1 step…. Applying 9V power to the actuator harness to test if it was running...

FJ80 CDL Help. *Solved* Stupidest Reason!

To add another question, what are y’all cleaning your connectors/pins with? Are you also spraying the inside of the harnesses?

FJ80 CDL Help. *Solved* Stupidest Reason!

Like so many before me, my center diff is not locking. I have a 1991 FJ80 with Factory CDL dash Switch. Ok, so I’ve been trying to figure out what I am missing here. Here is everything I’ve done to try and diagnose the issue. I have gone through the PNWadventures write up, I’ve seen the Toysrus...

Hardly. I just did a quick fine sanding and wash. Then sprayed. Steel-it is HIGHLY forgiving. You don’t even need to be careful of streaking. You can spray in any direction and evens out

Bolt on 80 Series Tire Carrier Compatible with Factory Bumper

If you’re using the factory wheel, the lug nuts should be ok. I had zero offset wheels so I used open ended lug nuts to make sure there was enough bite on the studs since the wheel sticks out a little more.

GGM Bolt-On Swing out Tire Carrier Install Video

It should. I don’t imagine anything being too different. At most, a drill or a little more cutting would be needed. But I’m speculating

GGM Bolt-On Swing out Tire Carrier Install Video

Hey how’s it going everyone? I wanted to share my experience installing the new 100 series tire carrier from @GGM I admittedly got a couple of the bolt sizes mixed up in my explanation, but if you’re installing this carrier on your 100, you’ll figure out what I was trying to say. Give it a...

Matt, I love option 3. You’ve been keeping with the lightweight designs. This is a great idea.

Bolt on 80 Series Tire Carrier Compatible with Factory Bumper

Same goes for me!!! I actually ended up doing a great job measuring! What screwed me up was trying to find out why my bumper wasn’t sitting flush so I chopped a bunch of the material away from the spindle. Turned out it was the bottom of the spindle.

Bolt on 80 Series Tire Carrier Compatible with Factory Bumper

This was a concern as mine as well. I have the TCAM installed on mine and had hung a 4.5 gallon fuelpax to it. There is minor wiggling coming from the carrier, with my 34” tire mounted. Not enough wiggle to worry me, but then again, I had not filled my fuelpax completely to 4.5 gallons. And if...

Bolt on 80 Series Tire Carrier Compatible with Factory Bumper

I’d be willing to help you come up with ideas. Maybe incorporate a sliding track system. Your own version of a drawer system?

Oh also, will the limit linkage have a quick release pin to allow for maximum swing?

Hey Matt, how about a side mounted traction board mount? Like one of these on @boxrocket_adenturers ‘ Possible attachment for the Jerry can swing out?
