    Trail Communications

UHF/GMRS lic (which includes FRS users, of course) Invested in Motorola XPR4550's (20w/40w), XPR6550's, XPR6530, plus many other HTT's. Analog & DMR/digital, but I don't use RF comms much anymore these days. Interest in Tech license, but too few are HAMs to justify any investment (money or...

    Cruiser Mods

The only way you'll really know what's needed is to just get out there in the woods, do some offroading, etc and see IF anything's really needed. Let her drive and maybe your wife will get into it... who knows? Maybe all she wants is a Gazelle T4 tent, etc? Do you have a decent inflator...

Wits' End and other small businesses

& I received my battery bracket from @LandCruiserPhil today. Well made cable! No drama. It's a pleasure doing business with you also, Phil.\ I agree, @Clunky ... I can't stand myself anytime I order anything from Amazon. I avoid it whenever I can. It's like walking into walmart...

Wits' End and other small businesses

...and just as expected, Phil just sent out the emails this morning to all those refunded. As I said I would, I placed my order for battery bracket. No drama. Thanks Phil. -Ivan

Wits' End and other small businesses

I'm one of those customers that Phil returned money to (battery bracket kit). His email explained it and I'll patiently wait till the parts come in and he sends out the emails that the kits are available again. No worries at all. I recently put an order in with Joey at Wit's End, too. I...

Water tight camshaft position sensor connection

I just tried to find this same female connector/camshaft position sensor/distributor pickup today. It would be nice, but it's not available (that I can find). What it is is the connector (that has the wires sealed into it) and the 3 hall-effect sensors that make up the entire electrical of the...

Emergency engine cut out in the woods

Great thread. Thanks for pointing me here, BILT. I'm having the CMP (P0340) and CPS (P0335) codes thrown (and no start condition, but cranks fine) because of electrical connections in and around this SAME connector on top of the distributor. Using the code scanner and a Chilton manual...

    Random no crank

This is a good thread, too. Lots of pertinent info! Thanks... still reading it.

    Random no crank

    You're right. My mistake. Thanks.

    Random no crank

If you're throwing those codes, you should! It DOES take some cranking time for the computer to recognize those codes and trigger the CEL. Even after fixing it, unless you clear the codes with your OBD2 reader, you should have that CEL stay on for quite some time.

    Random no crank

GOOD CATCH! You just reminded me, I DID SEE the grey protective vinyl sleeve for the wires exiting this connector had worn some little holes in it from the throttle cable riding on top of it (common, even with it being kept up with the brackets). I COULD have a problem with those wires, so...

    Random no crank

I found this thread upon having the same problem: P0335 and P0340 and no start (but cranks strong). Seeing these codes, it doesn't make any sense to start out looking in the direction of the starter. It was as if the coil wire had come off (but it was in and clean connection, both ends). The...

THREAD RESSURECTION TIME!!! 🧨🎆 Just a heads up locally: I've got a grey 40th (1997) on 33's (humbly stock though). I haven't seen many Land Cruisers around the Tally area and, well... that just has to change, now doesn't it? 😃 (I don't know if there's good forum section for this, but this...

Head Gasket done - no start

I can only imagine... Definitely somebody I wouldn't want to do business with (nor you, had you had any idea, of course). He has every right to be like that, as I understand his perspective, but all the same: he should hang a sign on his door to warn all potential customers: "I'M AN A-HOLE...

Head Gasket done - no start

Dang it. I read your entire thread bc I just overheated/blew my HG 5 hours north of you in Tallahassee today. I'm crossing fingers at this point for you also now!
