I did mine by adding another set of rails (on another seat) to the existing rails. Its a little bit higher but I like that. Seat is now back against the wheel well and I have plenty of room. Also moved the passenger seat back using 25*50 unistrut
Thread dig. Did this flywheel fit with the 4 speed cast bell housing? Im looking to do this conversion and am struggling to find a 330mm flywheel 8 bolt.

The BJ 40 rear main can easily be changed without pulling any main caps. Remove the gearbox, clutch and flywheel to gain access.
Change any suspect bearings while its apart.
I also recommend changing the gearbox input seal while the box is out

Theres a bloke in OZ on facebook that appears to be making his own styleside tub identical to a factory one. doing it all himself and it looks like it came out of the toyota factory.

POSSIBLY. Just possibly it is allready running lean. usually an engine will increase in revs as it gets leaner. The starter fluid leaking in may be richening the mixture and dropping the revs. Thats just a theory though and happy to be proven wrong- its all about learning
