whats the order you did those braces in the wheel wells? I'm asking because I replaced my wheel wells now need to put
in these brace panels that connect through the well into the roll bar.
I'm thinking I position the brace panels in and weld them from the upper side (drilling holes in the...
SW Colorado. Offhand that looks like the little valley over by Perrins Peak....but everything is brown right now. Where are you located? I'm over on Junction Creek.
You have enough bubbling around that area between the capture nuts and window that I'd clean that up and
see how bad it really looks first. You may need to cut it out and replace a small section there....hoping to not
cut into the complicated bend at the window. If it looks ok and just...
As someone who has gone the route of CCOT panels on a '79... I can say the panels are fine but if you are
replacing a lot of metal (which you almost assuredly in the same boat as I was)..... GO WITH SOME FULL OR PARTIAL
TUB. The cost and time just really really adds up using panels. I mean...
Check specifically (and verify diligently) if its the A/C connector (add-on which is probably not present in your 40). I have
a similar unused connector in my 79.
I've had similar issues... Its very difficult to get this perfect even going with lowest heat and smaller wire. I use a shrinking disk and am quite fond of it. I would definitely try a shrinking disk on it...pretty foolproof tech....but its not a miracle. I have tried the "cut and...
There are almost 250 pictures in that google drive link above. All kinds of fitment and detail on the tub. Seems like I've got a buyer headed this way on Sept 30....so I'm in stasis on other buyers at this time.

I suspect the next question is "does the two hole hinge variant line up with two of the holes on the three hole variant"? That would certainly make it easier for topnault to add a third hole+capture and knock out two variants at once (increasing their sale options).
The SA cruiser license...
Many perhaps cutting you some slack on saying "FJs"....but you may want to avoid the abbreviation. Personally I think we should reclaim the "FJ" singleton designation....but there was a non-landcruiser (FJ Cruiser discontinued) that used it prominently in its name and got shortened as "FJ"...
Topnault is doing very very good things but I don't believe its exactly the same as oem. Perhaps source a used hood in good shape if your old really needs 50+ hours of body work? What you've done is unbelievably good....I think you probably know the answer already. Keep up the good work...
The height of that is 4 and 3/16 from cross beam to outside/bottom face that sits on the frame. The width side to side from inside of rocker to edge is 10 and 1/4 lower ...11 and 1/2 upper
