well, horsepower is a measurement of the movement of wheight over distance during a set time. the faster an engine spins, the more horsepower it produces. the measurement is something like 750n per 1 meter over 1 second = 1 hp.
torque is a measurement of the twisting force of an engine. torque...
sorry bud, but i have allready thought of that. the engine will not run if i take all of the load off the camshaft b/c the valves will not be opening. furthermore, it will not make the noise b/c the starter will not spin the engine fast enough to cause the sound. i'm not tring to trouble shoot...
the engine was rebuilt about 7,000 miles ago. the person that did it, in his infinite wisdom, (dumbass) didn't check the cam and bearings. the mains are new and the crank and rods were metered. the engine sounds like a deisel when it's running. there are no exhaust leaks and the loudness is...
what is the exact removal and reinstall for the camshaft bearings on a 2f engine? i have worn out bearings, which are causing a loss (none at all) of oil pressure to the top of the engine. what will i need to do? is it a good idea to change the camshaft as well?
i've been reading over some of the posts and have found that quite a few people have made mods to the drive shafts. with a 350, 700r, and an adapter from sor, will i be able to keep all the stock drive shaft lengths? in other words, will i have to modify things behind the xfer case?
i'm looking at a catalog of brake adapters. they have the size 10mmX1.25mm, but the have a -4 AN on the description. it looks like this:
-4 AN to 10mm X 1.25 inverted flare
what does the -4 AN mean?
i am having trouble finding brake lines to fit my 75 cruiser. what i am thinking of doing is taping them out to a larger size. will this work? will the flange meet the calipers and the master cylinder if i tap the union and to a larger size? just to make this clear, i will be drilling a larger...
i have an oil pump on my 75 that i think is going out... the pump is supposed to be new, however, the heads are not getting any oil. furthermore, the pump never produces more than 25% max pressure on the gauge in the dash. the gauge and sender are new. when the vehicle is cold, the gauge reads...
i don't think i am getting any oil to my head! i took off the entire rocker assembly, cleaned it, and put it back into place. there doesn't seem to be any oil seeping out of any of the wheep holes in the rockers. i am correct in assuming oil should be coming from these holes, right? what should...
do you hear that? rev... rev.... it's time for a 350!
i just got through changing a pushrod, new radiator and hoses $300 and cleaning the entire rocker assembly because it wasn't oiling. maby that's why it all of a sudden has oil on the plugs... it's gettin' flippin' oil now!
i'm guessing...
i went for a little drive last night, and all of a sudden the cruiser started missing. so i checked a couple of things... and found oil on one of the spark plugs (lots of it.) it is my understanding that oil ON the plug means a valve guide is leaking. is this correct or could it be a ring?
However, if you rev the engine up it will fling oil around and make a mess out of everything in your engine compartment.
it isn't doing this... should i be worried?
your timing will be stamped on your crank pully/main drive pully. it doesn't matter what kind of ignition you have, you must go by this spec. simply knowing the timing won't help. the engine was built with the timing set to an exact point on the pully. i'm not sure what the exact degree of...
