    Heavy steering when turning left?

Hey all - just picked up a 2017 Land Cruiser after my 2013 was totaled in an accident (saved our lives). It's in pristine shape however I noticed the steering feels much heavier when turning to the left vs right. We all know the steering on these tanks are heavy but this stood out. It's as if...

Shuddering in the steering when going reverse / U-Turns

Thanks all - this is super helpful. I just changed the diff fluid and power steering again and the shuddering remains. Regarding air on the hose, my mechanic didn't find any bubbling in the reservoir or any changes so they're ruling that out as well. Will keep looking!

Shuddering in the steering when going reverse / U-Turns

Not lifted however I believe these are standard tires. It's only when I go full left no when I turn right.

Shuddering in the steering when going reverse / U-Turns

Thank you both for your responses - my truck is a 2013 Land Cuiser with approximately 127,000 miles. 1) there is no whining or sounds when I start the engine, there is no evidence anything is wrong until I turn the steering wheel full left and hit the throttle in reverse - noticed it DOES NOT...

Shuddering in the steering when going reverse / U-Turns

Hey all - recently I've noticed when I back out of parking spaces (when cold) with the steering wheel in full-driver / left, there is a bit of shuddering when I hit the throttle. I notice it also going left on u-turns. It goes away once the truck is warmed up. Last year, the dealer but dextron...

2013 Land Cruiser Tune Up Recommendations

My 2013 Land Cruiser now has 120,000 miles - this includes a XC trip to Utah and 3 trips to Florida in less than a year! The service manual states the spark plugs need to be changed at the 125K mile mark however what are signs to watch out for when spark plugs begin to go out? Any red flags to...

Throttle Body Service - need it or not?

Gotcha - how often would you change the water pump? I figure if they're already in there, to change the starter as well. My first car was a 1993 Mercury Villager and that was the infamous service combo haha.

Throttle Body Service - need it or not?

The infamous LC 200 series radiator cracked on me around 80K miles so that was replaced and done - I called the dealer out for saying my coolant needed to be flushed even though that was recently serviced. I told them i know it's the end of the month, I know the game and you're not screwing me...

Throttle Body Service - need it or not?

How critical is it to clean the throttle body? Better yet, how often? If it needs to be done, what's the best approach?

Throttle Body Service - need it or not?

Ok folks - Cruiser hit 106K miles (last 8k being all highway from roadtrip). I've had the following fluid changes done today and the dealer is recommending a "throttle body service" as well: Oil change Transmission fluid change Transfer Case / Differential fluid change Brake Fluid change...

Cross country drive...which vehicle do you take?

I second this approach. Take the LC on the road trip.

SQOD Squad - Stupid Question Of the Day

I do remember a post about that in the past but have not been able to find it. I have someone that is willing to make it work but curious if end of day (cost / piece of mind), the $300 is the best option. Regarding styling, I just think the badge is super cool and if someone calls me out, it's...

Cross country drive...which vehicle do you take?

I recently did a XC road trip in the 200 series (VA - Utah) which totaled 7,702 miles across 1 month. My total cost for fuel was $1700 which actually came under the $2,000 I originally budgeted. If fuel cost is no issue, the 200 is your option unless you want to spend time getting used to the...

SQOD Squad - Stupid Question Of the Day

Well this thread has blown up - good hearing everyone's input. It looks like best scenario is to purchase the old FJ40 badge which needs to be modified before applying (or pony up and give Toyota $300 haha).

SQOD Squad - Stupid Question Of the Day

Does anyone have a link to a Land Cruiser Heritage Emblem / Badge for purchase? I found the OEM Toyota badge which would run me about $300. Anyone found success with finding a more cost-effective option?

SQOD Squad - Stupid Question Of the Day

What are the best highway tire for the 200 series? I'd prefer comfort and quiteness on the road in addition to quality. I recently switched to the Michelin LTX tires -...

    Highest Mileage 200 Series

I was getting about 17-19 mpgs on the trip - I noticed a dropoff after going 90 mph. To my surprise, I'd get around 20-21 mpg's flying around I-70 through the mountains. That said, I feel my fuel economy has gone down a bit (~10%) since I switched to Michelin Defender LTX All-Seasons from the...

Thanks for the tip! How often do you flush the ATF? Do you also flush out the brake, diff/gear oil and power steering fluid?

    Highest Mileage 200 Series

That's awesome and love the tips! To clarify, did you go for a full flush or just a drain and replace? Reason being, I was told if you haven't been consistently flushing out fluids, then you should just replace the fluid regularly. Something to do with how the oil ages against the valves and...
