Is this concept substantially different from what Long Range Automotive sells? Are you just trying to cut cost down?

Hi all, my first post in a while. Homers it's not cheap, but the aux fuel tank in place of your spare tire is probably the best option in the long run. It's more convenient obviously, solves the issue of where do you put the gas, has more capacity than is practical to carry in fuel cans. You...
And don't forget a 2" taller tire will actually only give you 1" additional lift off the ground. Half of that increase in size is between the center and the top of the tire, so the increased lift is only 1" from the ground to the center. 30" tire halfway is 15" (from ground to center), 32" tire...
I'm surfing posts on tires and found this one, but fwiw, I have these on the GX and it's taken 30k miles for me to see any kind of wear on them. I also took them on a gnarly dirt/rock trail that was wet part of the time and they did great.
Recently did the TB/WP job at my local shop. They say that Aisin is the OEM supplier for the TB anyway, so that kit is OEM parts. $900 or so for my cost all in.
How do you like the additional reverse lights? I blacked my OEM reverse lights and even with LEDs they aren’t bright enough.
Check out the recent posts on the OPOR install
I'll try to get some pics up - though the nut welded to a plate is inside the frame so I can't photo it while they're installed. But that is the idea. In this case there is an opening in the frame where you can put the nut/plate into the frame close to where you need it and use some kind of...
Well I think with your frame it's something to be aware of. Also I want to add that the guy who helped me install had also put his on with a part he built, a little plate with a nut attached to it. He's on here @little_joe. But as I recall that solved one of the rivnut attachment points
You know just reading your post again, I will add that the bolt where you use a little metal plate (mine was square or rectangle) seemed to depress the frame just a bit when I really cranked on it...
So I never got back with an update, but I did bypass the rivnuts altogether and it came out fine and I don't think took any longer. You do have to drill the frame 2 or 3 times which is hard work - make sure to get a quality metal drill bit before you even attempt it. But they are rock solid and...
I think it depends on your use and needs - my wife drives ours and hated the stock lock as it took a bit of gusto to get it to lock and then release. Plus if you aren't in the habit or don't think of it, the door closes on you and/or the wind blows it. She loves the gas strut I put on. But I...
Just had the same problem and ended up having to replace the ignition cylinder at the dealer for $750. The things to try first are turning your steering wheel while turning the key, if the steering wheel is locked. Meaning, you can "lock" a steering wheel when your vehicle is off but turning it...
After having a repair done to the secondary air injection system, I now notice a fan running at high speed on a cold start up. It runs about 30 seconds, then sounds like it shuts off, but gets quiet enough I can't hear it. My understanding is this fan is helping to blow air to warm up the cats...
Hi guys, quick question on this. The 2nd piece of plastic trim that you remove, it seems very secure on mine, like it's glued on or maybe has double sided tape. Can anyone verify how that 2nd piece was attached? I have an 09. The first piece came off no problem, but I can't access the front...
Those are great pics and ideas guys, thanks for those. I'm working towards coming up with a drawer system I can install and then remove as needed, which would only be a few times a year. But one reason for it is that the bigger retail store plastic bins are apparently not going to hold up well...
