There was someone on Mud recently who installed a tailgate assist damper on their lower tailgate. I meant to bookmark the thread, but then I forgot to. Does anyone remember seeing this and have a link handy? I cannot seem to find it.
OP, just for clarification, was it ONLY the load range C tires that you were suffering breaks in the sidewall with?
To toss my .02 into the conversation, I have 315/75/16 Toyo ATIIIs in load e. I have had a sidewall break already. I have probably about 1000 trail miles on them. I came from...
Nitto and Toyo tires are made in the same factory. As I understand it, they even use the same carcass. The only difference between comparable load rated tires is the tread on the outside of the tire. So in this instance, the sidewall would likely be about the same or exactly the same.
Maltec Europe is the parent group and they are still around. There is the awesome new Expedition 7 Maltec build that is available.

Maltec US was only selling the product. The builds were still occurring at Maltec Europe.
I just dealt with this issue! It sounded EXACTLY like a bad CV. The only exception was that the noise sounded like it was coming from the wheel/outer hub vs inside the wheel well when it is a bad CV. I was so relieved that it wasn't a defective new CV I had just installed.
I hate the rhino on my sliders. It will get punctured, but then there isn't an easy way to patch it. This leads to additional rust.
When it gets bad enough on my Slee sliders, I will just sand blast it off. I will then look into alternate options. I was thinking of a quality high wear rattle...
This is pretty damn clean Jimmy! Nicely done. You actually have an intercooler which is definitely something that I don't. That SC, the intercooler and E85 is gonna be dangerously fun.
To anyone considering this, the USD/AUD exchange rate makes this a pretty damn good deal right now. Basically...
This was exactly what I was wondering. Thanks for detail. I have often wondered if there are easy to gain HP with my SC. I will look into the intake. I show a peak of about 4.5 PSI on my SC at about 5000 ft in elevation.
Wow those are some really impressive numbers. I thought the stock SC was only good for about 120hp more. Do you think it is more the headers or tuning that got you the extra power?
It is good to hear that you were able to get the knuckle separated. That is often one of the harder tasks with replacement. I would just buy a ball joint press or take it to a machine shop to press it in. It would be hard to get the ball joint pressed back in without a c clamp style press. Will...
In the US, you can rent tools from the auto parts stores. This is how most of us get what is needed for this job. Would this be possible in Costa Rica? The tools/parts for doing this job will be substantially less than $600. You are likely to need some of these tools just to get the ball joints...
Just a heads up, I only got about 40k miles out of my ball joints on the Nitro Gears UCAs. The BJs needed to be replaced for a while. There was the usual ball joint thunk when it would normally occur. Unfortunately I have the old style and they stopped producing the parts I needed. I made the...
I have been thinking about running E85 in my Sc'd 100. Have you given any thought to doing this? J1000 on this forum has installed it on his naturally aspirated 2006 LX and it improved performance. He said that the loss in mileage was only about 15% per gallon. Given the need for 91 or 93 with...
