Which Fox coilovers did you end up with? It looks like I might be able to fit some 14"s fairly easily. Poly performance has them for a good price for the DSC versions
Go for a drive, without any load on the engine you will not get any useful information or allow the ecu to learn closed loop values. It will take a bunch bad noise and heat before you melt it down.
Also make sure this is plugged.
Next time we go, your more than welcome to tag along. If we are on a mission to get somewhere, we usually have an extra seat. Or mostly head down the way we go up.
I've done it in our 60 on bfg 33's and a rear locker in similar conditions, but the big key right now is low pressures, also not...
Rig? Locker(s)? Winch? Tires? Comfortable with airing down to single digits?
33s would be a challenge, and there's on ditch crossing on a bad side hill that usually eats the rig on 315s that goes with us.
Four hours later, this is what a 4rnr and 80 look like at the Wrangle camp shelter at 10pm. Really good snow once it cooled off, and only a couple hairy spots. Good times! Going back in a pair of weeks to camp for the night.
If anyone is interested, Travis and I are heading up either the 20rd towards Dutchman or little applegate towards wrangle.
Leaving Ruch market at just about the worse time to go, 5:30... fingers crossed for some decent conditions, probably one of our last trips for snow this season.
Ha! Its funny how much time it takes to trim and kind of re-seal. Once I did mine, I realized that I made a mistake only going to 37's!
Another great part is not destroying bushings, and bending radius arms. I might be getting softer in my old age, but doubt I'll be bending lowers like I did...
Yes! Looks like you have a little more room to trim if needed.
Once you get use to the less feedback from the front, you'll love the three link. So much free'r and plush, now you have me looking at coilovers and bumps again..
Late spring snow run soon anyone?
Great thing about Samurais, you have to be really sure on what you bring with you! And makes Tetris practice as an adult... Curious to see how those tires work out, bet they'll be great on it!
There use to be another snow wheeler around in an 80, but haven't heard from him in years. Plus a couple from GP, but life seems to have slowed most of us down. I have a couple friends that are usually good for short notice trips, tentatively planning a Eubicon and Fordyce trip later this...
I am, in Phoenix. Usually big into snow wheeling, but this year have been pretty lazy. Also with a new tiny person time is pretty limiting.
I had a couple of the Barnes joints that wouldn't let grease in until I tore them apart, after that for some reason they grease just fine every time...
Kind of funny, around this time every year I need to go through and grease all the joints in my 80 also. Must be a linked 80 series thing :worms:
Not sure where you head for snow, but in the next couple of weekends I am hoping to get up towards Wagner or Dutchman and see how bad the...
Finally some time to check on the snow. Yes there is some, all wet and not a very cold base... about 12" at 6400' with drifts. Downed tree stopped us, so might be the next couple weeks before we give it a go again.
Can you see in the software the IAC being commanded to step open? It should be in the last position otherwise. I'm also guessing there isn't a setting to disable iac moves in decel mode?
Don't forget there is a vacuum operated dash pot that opens the throttle when no vacuum is applied. Opens...
Wire two of the solenoid to the same relay and see if the voltage goes from floating to ground with the relay off, if its still floating with two add another. Then measure the resistance it takes to bring it to ground. I bet 15ohms will do it.
Make sure your wattage of the resistors you buy...
