What a strange run of crummy ones I've had then. Makes me wonder if they are genuine oem or only packaged as such. Yes, 3 of em wrecked in 3 or 4 years. My '76 didn't come with one either. I'll definitely loc-tite my next one.
Thankyou! Nutserts have been my friend on the 40. I'll check that out! A larger knob would maybe be nice too. As for difficulty of shifting to 4L, it seems easier than my 76 was and about average for the few other rigs I've played with.
Thankyou. That link just leads me to sale page? I'll take another scroll thru it after this. I think perhaps i've hit on a grail for me - a thread that hasn't been pursued much on here on MUD (according to my searches). I guess I am probably looking for some after market knob that is more...
2 issues in my post - a shift knob and searches. So I go to the 40 forum and search? I've tried the search function here many, MANY times and had no results. Either I am an idiot, or the search function sucks, or both entirely possible
Hey All- I've been thru 3 of the OEM $40 shift knobs for my t case in 3 years. They all suck and don't last long. The first one stripped out, the second split up the side and the 3rd one has stripped out also. I sure as hell won't buy another one but need to have a knob. Do you think that...
My failure happened in conjunction with a flooded carb going up mineral creek to engineer pass CO. It eventually turned over. I'll be working on that unknown carb too.
I put one of the amazon sourced GRs on my 75 a few weeks ago.. It showed up as a WEI brand from China. It worked great for a few weeks and has now quit. I replaced and/or resurfaced all of my grounds and still no luck. I even dropped in a new battery. It's possible the issue is in my coil...
Am I starting to get a reputation for digging up old threads? My seals have gone bad recently in my 75 manual steering box. I like to make my repairs properly, so I'll get to the whole steering apparatus this winter as it looks like a pretty big job to me (paint the shaft, etc). IN THE...
I just bought one of these from bestop. I got the standard model made for the 1980-83 cj5 and it is way too small at 45 inches wide. The better choice is jammer made for the 2007-18 jk which is 53.75 wide. Bestop does not publish dimensions on their site so I hope someone finds this useful.
Well, my CMC was fine, replaced it anyway. The problem was the release cylinder - an odd looking non OEM part. The installer had placed the rounded nut that should press against the fork on the aft side of it. The piston was broken just forward of the fork but still working by pressing...
Here's to an old thread resurrection! I am having the same problems Duck Tape experienced. I've had my 75 for 2 years and the clutch has performed as it should. In the past few weeks, I noticed the pedal starting to bottom out. I can tell that the CMC has been replaced as both CMC look new...
I wonder why this thread never came up on my results when I searched exactly for "Toyota jacks?" Does anyone know what the 09110-13010 jack went with? It bears no TEQ logo, just STO. I picked one up the other day for $20. At .7 ton, looks like it will just see some use in my shop. Thanks!
