This morning when my wife went out to walk, she came back in to tell me that my headlights were on and there was a buzzing noise. I thought someone had broken in and turned them on. When I got out there, the only lights that were on were the low beams. Clearly had been on for some time, given...
When I was in college, I had an Alfa Romeo Spider. I added speakers to the area in front of the trunk space and when I put the top down, the fabric folds would lay on top of the speakers. That blocked the air the speakers were trying to move and the speakers failed. I took some tin and shaped...
Do a search for the Toyota Maintenance Manuals -vehicle and engine - in this forum. AFAIK, every torque spec you could ever want is at the end of them.
The issue with mine, on the same passenger front window, was carbon build up in the Master panel switch. None of the sprays could get behind the copper bands/rivets that make up the circuit.
Yes, on the multimeter - checking for continuity as I activated each switch position.
I'm calling it liquid copper - I'm sure it's got some other stuff in it as well. It's usually at the parts store in the electrical component area. It's sold as a method to repair the grid lines on defroster...
Have you checked the master switch itself? I had the same problem. I was able to trace it down to the circuit on the switch. I used some of the liquid copper that they sell to repair defroster grids. That worked for a while, and when it failed, I bought an new master control switch panel.
If you are talking about the smaller lines, get a can of compressed air that they sell for cleaning keyboards and stick each line on the nozzle, to blow it out.
I think they expect the frame to be grounded when you attach it to the body/tailgate. If you have plastic or rubber plugs that the frame screws go into, you are missing the ground
X2 - if I recall, the 'TOYOTA' bar has to have it's mounting bolts thru the tailgate(grounding it) for the internal lights to work. Your mounting screws for the LED frame may not be grounding, depending on what threaded fitting you have on the tailgate.
It was August of '21. Ordered it from PartSouq. Looks to still be available from them.

The outer housing is darker than the OEM gray. I may have moved the new switch body to the original housing, I can't recall for sure.
