There will be a large group of buyers who feel that the "tried and true" V8 has a lot of value over FI or hybrid. Additionally, if the LC were to move to Unibody (which I don't see happening, but whatever) - there will also be a group clamoring for "the last of the true body-on-frame...
I just got a note from a friend at Toyota. The 2021 LC will remain a 200 series and get a refresh. The biggest change will be a new powertrain, reported to be a 3.5L Turbo V6. 415hp/445lb-ft, 10 speed AT and electric power steering.

I don't own an LC or GX, but I've labored over this for ages and have used the tailgate type on LR's before.
The only thing annoying about the GX is that the door is setup for the right hand drive market. Otherwise, in real world I don't think it matters much. Some like the swinging door...
