    1993 80 Series Restoration

Good luck to you bro. I just spent the last year doing the same on a 1994. If you have lots of patience and lots of $$$ you’ll be fine. In your last picture above there is a little green wire going across. Mine has that too. If you find out what that is I’d love to know.

    Complete A/C system replacement?

This is good stuff. Thanks. I'm sending you a DM to sort some nitnoid details.

    Complete A/C system replacement?

OK thanks. Based on what I know, the whole system is contaminated and blocked somewhere. From what I have read on here it is imperative to get all the contamination out and keep it clean until it can be sealed up and charged. If I replace these components and keep them sealed with tape or plugs...

    Complete A/C system replacement?

I understand about the evaporator and expansion valve. I'm just trying to save some money. They are A/C specialists, not land cruiser specialists.

    Complete A/C system replacement?

Without going into specifics, my A/C is shot, and it must be assumed all components will need to be replaced. A shop has quoted me too large an amount to do the work. They are being cooperative but I think they are a little intimidated by the evaporator ("looks like we will have to take the dash...

    Heated seat wiring question?

Tagging into this thread. I am about to get my seats recovered. I am going to get them to put some heat elements in and wire them later. Has anyone tried these Dormans? Dorman Universal Kit Probably the same as Amazon but at least there is a recognizable brand name attached.

RTH - locked keys in cruiser, battery dead, no access to spare

TBH that’s how AAA did it. But the guy had special tools and had some experience.

RTH - locked keys in cruiser, battery dead, no access to spare

Second on AAA. Won’t help right now if you don’t have it, but it is worth it. I dropped the third-party contract roadside assistance that my insurance carrier had because they sucked so bad and picked up AAA. I was locked out of my house recently. AAA comes out to my driveway, unlocks the...

    Alabama 1994 Revival - Bless it's Heart

I have either read on Mud or been told that these three plugs in the middle of the console are for seat heaters and possibly a JDM console refrigerator? Can anyone confirm this? While everything is out I may as well put in seat heaters. Is there a plug and play solution out there? I know almost...

    Alabama 1994 Revival - Bless it's Heart

Sound deadener. In retrospect I would not have done this. I think the "mass-backed" carpet plus mat is enough.

Roof is buttoned up now. Deleted the rails - rail holes siliconed with rubber washers - but kept the ribs.

    Alabama 1994 Revival - Bless it's Heart

I am especially proud of how the hatch turned out. Was able to save the gray trim and transfer it. All the connections buttoned right up and everything works, including the brake light, wiper, and defroster. Original hatch (done). Rescue junkyard hatch. Back together.

    Alabama 1994 Revival - Bless it's Heart

Quote was $2400 but they forgot my military discount so I got out of there a smidge over $2K. They patched the flare holes and also one rust spot behind the wheel included with that. The paint is not going to win any shows but if it lasts several years I’m fine with it.

    Alabama 1994 Revival - Bless it's Heart

Back from Maaco today: My thoughts: (1) they did a good job, worth it, I'm pleased (2) they did an outstanding job fixing the flare holes (3) there are a few runs and rough spots; there is orange peel. I am going back in a month after some curing and they are going to buff out some...

    Two trucks, one Badlands winch

Also a good idea but by the time I got all of it set up I may as well be into another HF winch for the other truck.
