Garth-
Sorry, I tried adding pictures but I am making a mistake somewhere because I cannot get it right. Any suggestions would be welcome. Otherwise, it is red with a white hard top. It has the original rims--I know the tires are kind of large, maybe 32"?? I will keep trying on the pictures...
Super clean fj40 brought up from Texas about 18 months ago. It has 49k on it but was rebuilt 12k ago. I paid $10,500 for it and have since:
Had wheels powder coated factory grey (still has original hubcaps);
Front disc brake conversion;
A/C installation;
Electronic ignition;
Weber carb...
49,000 original miles (12,000 on rebuild--have paperwork); a Texas truck until May of '06--absolutely ZERO rust and all stock; since purchased (for $10,500) the following has been added: front disc brakes, a/c unit which blows so cold I keep it on the lowest setting, weber carb, powder coated...
Thanks for including the thread. I thought at one time someone made a spare tire bike carrier for a passenger mounted rear tire, but based on the people who responded to your thread, that does not seem to exist. Did you ever decide which was the best fit? Thank you again. Alex
Does anyone know what is the best set up for a NON-ROOF bike rack for an fj40? My 40 has the rear passenger mounted spare tire carrier. It also has a ball hitch in the back, but it is from the factory so I do not have the option of sliding a "square ball" hitch type rack on it. Thanks!!!!
Can you again send me Simon's address? I have tried, but have not received a response. It comes back "undeliverable" so maybe I am not typing it correctly. Thanks! ahipskin@hinsdale86.org
Sorry, my bad. I live outside of Chicago... Am I supposed to know who the buyer is or who Lyn is??? Either way, much obliged. I will try to get Lyn's phone number asap.
Please don't excommunicate me from the Toyota community. I own a '74 fj40 so I hope that allows me to post my other truck. I cannot justify keeping both, so the Travelall is going up for sale. It is a 1966 International Harvester. Most people think of Scouts when they think of International's...
Hey, I just saw your truck. I live in Chicago and was ready to drive up there this weekend to drive it and possibly buy it--but, I need to find a standard transmission. Great looking truck! It will certainly sell...
Hey, thanks for the advice. I will try to get a couple of buddies to help. LOVE the Lee Van Cleef picture! I should try to find an Eli Wallach picture...
