Ryan, 75k on the gears so far. I have no reason to believe they're an issue other than having looked at (almost) everything else.
Andy, if it's a drive shaft issue, wouldn't running it at extreme full droop have some kind of impact on results? Or maybe throw false results if it weren't...
When running on a lift, are they somehow able to simulate the vehicle's weight being on the ground? I'm picturing a 2-post lift with suspension drooped all the way down.
I'll look into ECGS. Wouldn't there also need to be some consideration for how the gears are installed in the diff housings?
70+mph vibes: Absolutely repeatable. Totally consistent and you can expect when to feel them come on. Around town it's super smooth, but on the highway, ugh.
Agreed on axles. I have 2 on the list very soon.
Also agreed on gear install. I'm not nearly knowledgeable or inclined enough to dig in...
A few issues. It feels like something is loose underneath. Nothing really appears to be. There's a really prominent driveline vibration that exists on acceleration, deceleration at highway speed, and doesn't really manifest until about 70MPH. All things point to drive shaft u-joints, but I have...
Mileage rolled 335k last week. Did oil/filter, had tires rotated, greased the drive shafts.
The truck is feeling really s***ty at highway speeds lately. It's getting frustrating. @cruiserpatch thinks it could be due to bad control arm and rack bushings, so I've got some SuperPros to go in. He...

I just had these guys do some work on one of my old Mercedes. I just picked up a few weeks ago. IMO, the work is top notch and they're real body guys. They did some very impressive rust remediation/ weld patching for me.
I share these thoughts as someone who ditched AHC because I thought it was the right move for me, and have since built the entire suspension on my truck.
Not to jump on you, but that alone tells me your system was not in good shape. It doesn't matter what bolt on suspension you're running...
Hot take, OP. Sounds like you figured out some secrets nobody else has thought of and grasped the full image of the AHC in the process.
It didn't. It's not like engine oil or coolant that has anywhere else to leak in to. Ahc is a closed system, there's nowhere else for fluid to go but out...
FYI the other trucks with the 4.7 received a lesser version of the engine. If I recall correctly, especially earlier 100s had much beefier internals.
Not that a sequoia engine wouldn't potentially work fine, but imo, I'd insist on an engine from a 100 specifically.
My alignment shop is fantastic. All of the guys there are racers themselves and suspension experts. They account for type of driving, road crowning, the type of vehicle being aligned, etc.
But I suspect they wouldn't do anything about setting height. I set the height, they dial it in...
11-12k sounds high for a used engine swapped. Russian Alex in NC bought a whole donor truck for $3.5k and swapped the engine (and transmission! ) in to his LX.
