RESOLVED: Moab Crank/No Start completed troubleshooting

Matt, So there was an EFI fuse in the fuse box, but it wasn't actually connected to the EFI circuit? And thus all power to the EFI circuit was instead going through the added inline fuse? And thus when you replaced the EFI fuse it fixed nothing? That is nuts. I can understand why...

    Circuit opening relay

Has the Denso 567-0036 still been working out for you? I was getting ready to buy some "trail spares" with the current Toyota parts sale ( I am trying to keep up with @TheGrrrrr )-- including the OEM 85910-30050 Circuit Open relay for 93/94 ---and even with the sale this particular relay is...

So apparently moth balls are limited to moths

I thought about this, but I do have dogs. I bought a couple of sticky traps that I am going to put on the top of the engine and see if they catch anything. Jared

    #%!# Pack Rats

I just had a similar thing happen to me here -- although so far it appears to be limited to the engine bay. And for those that don't click the link I will give a preview--- moth balls are not 100% percent effective in repelling rodents.

So apparently moth balls are limited to moths

I have been storing my 80 in my backyard in Mesa--I have some horse stalls with a shade structure back there, but no horses. A few months back I opened my hood and saw some evidence that a rodent or two had been hanging out in my engine bay. So I did an internet search and bought some moth...

    EGR cripple...not delete

In this Post he said "The plug I build gives the ECU the signal it needs to avoid a CEL by simulating the temp sensor. You have to block/plug the vacuum lines in order to prevent the vacuum from opening the EGR valve. Its a pretty simple installation, but there is more info in these threads if...

    1993 FZJ 80 O2 sensor 89465-69115

They are available-- for now. O2 Sensor We just had this discussion--- see here Now that I think about it, maybe your mechanic couldn't find one because @TheGrrrrr has succeeded in hoarding all them :)

    EGR cripple...not delete

I would be interested to see what the temp is with it disabled. Cause If you look at the image I posted I think it is not clear that there is "no exhaust flowing through it" when the EGR is disabled. Instead, it appears to all be directed out of the EGR valve and towards the EGR modulator---...

    EGR cripple...not delete

I have also wondered if you can buy one of Wits End's keychains that fits the EGR opening, and then install the keychain "under" the EGR pipe. That way the hot gases are blocked at the port, but the required equipment remains present for inspection. But you may not be able to do that without...

    EGR cripple...not delete

I have wondered about that--- but it appears to me that the EGR valve will always be leaking out exhaust gases unless you do something serious to block it. Just blocking the vacuum lines that control the EGR valve does not stop the gasses from coming out and burning up your wiring harness (see...

Oxygen sensors for 93-94 FZJ80's... cant find 24044 ntk

Just to be clear, the OEM O2 sensor 89465-69115 mentioned by @cruiserdan works for both of the sensors in the 93/94 models, right? So why are you also hoarding the Amazon NTK sensors? Just a back-up to a back-up? Clearly I need to improve my parts-hoarding game if I want to keep up with...

    TheGrrrrr's 1994 80 Series Build Thread - "The Notorious B.G.E."

Matt How did you decide on these items? I guess I have seen several threads talking about what spares people carry, but I am curious how you came up with your list. Jared

    Hidden winch mount plate?

As was mentioned above, @TRAIL TAILOR sold these, and they looked great. They attach to the top, and look like they mount the winch a little higher up. But I don't see them on his website anymore. See 80 Series Hidden Winch Mount -...

How much metal shavings is too much in the oil pan?

Just out of curiosity, how long did you drive it at "just below 5k rpm" before it started to fail? And was it a near constant 5K rpm?

The Historic Butterfield Overland Trail in Arizona

My great great great grandfather traveled that trail in 1846/47-- or at least parts of it---all the way to San Diego. I have hiked a small section of it that is now in one of the monuments. I would like to see more of it. Jared

Question for 93-94 guys (installing lift kit and adjustable links/Delta panhard riser bracket)

I am curious about this-- and did some searching. TLC94LS had the same issue, but I didn't see an answer. Arizona Jeff said he had to remove the bracket.

    Sticky Power locks? Use Houdini!

I can't decide if this makes me more or less skeptical about its effectiveness as a lock lubricant.

    Sticky Power locks? Use Houdini!

I was searching for lock lubricants and found this thread. I was wondering if anyone else had tried Houdini Lock Lube? The claims make it sound like magic. But that just makes me skeptical. And I don't like that it claims to have been around for 40 years-- it seems like there would have...

LX 470 Key issue Lube or not to lube.....

First, what is the best type of lubricant to use on a Lexus lock that uses an internal cut key -- and is it the same or different than we should use on Toyota locks that use external cut keys? I have seen people recommend -- WD-40 3 in One lock lube Silicone lube dry graphite WD-40 dry lube...
