Cali Smog PASSED :)
Cat Monitor is a freakin Nightmare. Two ways, 45MPH at 3 Minutes then 40MPH for 7 Mintues or 55MPH for 10 Minutes. Freeway people hate my arse.
I got an EGR mod kit if anyone wants it cheap :)
I bought the kit and was planning to do the MOD but if I can't get Cat to play then I may have to by-pass it.
I will post after passing or fail :-(
BTW, you must clean the sensor at the intake to give it a chance to monitor cleanly.
So my Moms went to get her old baby Smog Pre-Tested even after I told her not too because I have a buddy that would pass Smog for me as a test.
:)
Welp, she pre-tested it in a panic ( old woman ) and FAILED, EGR flow failure and PCV & Hoses needed changing ( after tester broke it ) Arse-bite...
Oldie but a Goodie.
I had the dreaded "car will not shut off" syndrome. Scared the poop out of me, thank god I had a wrench in the car to disconnect the neg wire. Wow, scary.
Situation: I parked and did not like where I was in the red so I decide to move it back, started her and it kept...
OP, really sorry to read your troubles, man that sucks.
+1 use OEM or Toyota Filter.
On my Porsche, we did a little un-scientific test of the NAPA GOLD made by WIX. Specs stated it filtered at smaller microns of debris. One would one think GREAT, but nope it would clog up the filter sooner and...
First, I would do a leak down test and compression test to determine the health of your engine. You may be surprised unless you do not change your oil frequently.
Get an OBD2 Reader and see if error code is pending or posted.
On my ES300 the MAF wire on the connector was loose, would not allow a start, pushed it in started fine. Resoldered, all is well now.
On my list :-)
Kinda related, check out your firewall where the column go thru. I found a huge hole it went thru just loose, I took some left over heater hoses and cut a 3" piece and made a bushing grommet. No more slop and keep the critters out to boot.
Update: Moms said brakes are like new much better than the first time I failed to bleed it properly. She is 105 lbs and always had difficulty braking her LX450, now brakes on a dime :-)
Thanks again Fellas!
Outstanding!
Yeah, clear tube and old glass bottle is the best. I used glass because plastic tend to fall apart over time.
Working on that stoopid P0401. Ordered the "test kit" LC4Life. Can't wait. :D
I always cursed the LX450 Brakes, What a big POS. NOT, It actually brake very well if bled properly.
I added a step 6) back to the LSPV ( Load Sensor Pressure Valve ). Honestly, I did not know it had it. No wonder I could not get a 100% bleed.
Came out Bubble Free and Clean but I figured I...
Yeap, purchased on eBay for $43 each. All rears working now but next time I will service it. Easy enough swap but take care on the brittle lever locks, if you are in a pinch you can place a circlip on it.
They should be T3 or T4 bulbs. they need to be wired wrapped in place. I just did my gear selection lights with incandecent. Mistakenly got the T1, too small but they works perfectly, not too bright.
On Amazon pack of 10
Well, what a freakin NIGHTMARE.
Definitely drain 1 gallon of Radiator Fluid or you will lose 1 gallon trying to fit that PHH on.
I used my long pivot ratchet with "T" to get to that ridiculous middle 12MM bolt. Once Loosened I left it there and disconnect upper angled hose from the Heater...
