I think I got to back out for today, though I might try to pop in. My dog is starting K9 training and I have conflicting times they gave me I'm trying to sort out. If not, I hope to get a trail ride together for the Jemez, soon!
4B is a short but fun road and has gotten more technical over the past year. I organize a trail race and part of it goes from Jemez Falls to McCauley and we use it for emergency access.
I attached a photo of the cliff side from McCaulley looking up towards where 4B ends on the map @lurch...
Yes and No... I scouted it for access for search and rescue evacuations from the springs over the course of a couple days about a month ago. It's steep and cliff's out in most sections with no actual trail, but I did find a way down... It's steep and loose but doable.
Great idea! I'm going to check with Todd and see if he's up for it.
McCaulley is a great option for a hike and soak; I'd suggest going in from the Jemez Falls side; there's not as many goons on the hiking trail as there is from Battleship. :) If there's a decent size group interested I could...

I got these Strong Arm Liftgate struts in today and installed them on my '91 HDJ81. Installation was easy and it was refreshing to have the gate lift on it's own and stay open, even with the Gobi ladder...
Dang! Thanks for the update. I went with the Strong Arm for $38.00. It's hard to find good reviews on anything, but figured, well heck... at least their American made! I have a Gobi ladder on the hatch, so we'll so how they work. I'll post up after I get them installed.
Yep, that's it exactly!! Drove it home and got things apart and tightened up and it's slowed down (from every 3-5 seconds to a minute. I'll order some o-rings.
Thanks for your reply!!
Hey all, I noticed that some fuel is leaking when idling from the front right (facing) part of the engine block. The area it's coming from is underneath nut along a flat bar, where the arm attaches to the throttle. There's a big spring underneath... wondering if the spring wasn't attached...
