Reverse is the only position with a potential problem. A Yeti standard size cup fits in it and in the reverse position the shift is close but doesn't hit. I will find a 16 oz bottle and stick it in it and take a picture tomorrow. I think it will be OK because of the way the neck is tapered.
Modified and installed a TUFFY Samurai console in my BJ73. Its a good option if you are looking to install a console. I was going to mount it on a piece of 1/8 or 3/16 steel plate but amazingly couldn't find a piece around here. (Rota Spain) I ended up using a 1/2" piece a Sapelle wood instead...
I am looking for front and rear mud guards for my 87 BJ73. It is a stock vehicle, no fender flares. Not having any luck. The Toyota dealer here in Spain ordered the wrong ones. Any help with this is appreciated. Aftermarket ones are fine with me.
Your correct on the tire size. They are COOPER Discoverer S/T MAXX. They were about $50 Euro per tire cheaper than the GOODRICH K02's here.
I have run them much yet but so far so good. The color is TOYOTA's Color Code 8U6
Thanks. I think they came out good as well. I struggled with what color to paint them. Black, white, and then I looked online and a lot of the pictures of the old Land Cruisers had them the same as the body color. The body shop was a little surprised when I told them and then afterwards they all...
Eight months in the Spanish body shop, but worth the wait. They did a nice job on the paint and all the weatherstripping, body mounts as well as other rubber parts are replaced with new. Thanks to Mark at BILLET 4X4 for help getting the parts I couldn't get locally. Very Happy
Thanks Chuck... and of course we can. Once they get some paint on it and start putting it back together we can ride over at lunch and check it out if you like.
I am headed to the Toyota dealer early next week to get some parts ordered and I will check on the number. The color display is in their showroom. I will get back to you.
Here are some more recent pictures of the prep before painting. I am hoping for even just a little overspray on her at this point!!!!
The one picture is of the color, 8U6.
Pictures wouldn't download so I am trying a new thread.
Here are a few pictures on what is going on with the project. I think I will label it the Mañana project. She was suppose to start getting painted today with a Toyota 8U6 color but it didn't happen. Maybe mañana! More to follow.
Hi Folks. My name is Tom and I bought Chuck's BJ73 over here in Spain. I have had it for almost a year and am putting it through a rehab. When I get done I will have to probably go to rehab!! I will post pictures soon. Adios!
