    Front differential pinion seal leaking?

Good Marning Cruiser Heads, I have a 1994 FJZ80. I suspect my front differential pinion seal is leaking but I want to be sure. Assuming it is the pinion seal, is there a kit I should buy or do I just need to buy a new seal and install it? I'm not a mechanic but do wrench on my own cars and...

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

Update: I picked up my Cruiser today. In a nutshell, the coolant level was a smidge low and there was as some sort of an air pocket near the throttle body. Turned out to be fairly simple really. He had a huge funnel specifically designed to get all the air out of the system and top it off.

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

Yes, I should be picking it up Friday. I let my mechanic work on it in his "convenient " time, that way I get help on the bill. I'll chime back in with the exact diagnosis when I pick up the rig. Thanks for following up.

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

It's still unsolved. This is my 3rd vehicle so it's not dire that I figure this out now. I just did the lower ball joint in my runner and am replacing the contacts on my starter in my truck. So I plan to have a local mechanic (he works primarily on Toyotas) take a look at it. I wi definitely...

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

There's no fuel leakage. I'll have more time tomorrow to look at the fuel hose. Anything special required to replace the hose other than normal tools?

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

I did some looking, it seems it could be the "fuel pressure regulator "? If it is, how should I go about checking/testing it? I do have a manual (Gregory's) and has some instructions on taking it off. Should I just try and tighten it???? Please, any helpful responses asap would be lost...

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

Update again: I have narrowed down the hissing noise I think. Here it goes...all I have to do is turn the key in the "ON" position to hear the hissing noise. I have attached some more pictures of exactly where it's coming from. It seems to me that it's fuel related. Hopefully someone can...

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

I have a few headlamps....it's time I dont have. And I usually prefer to look at my vehicles in the light as it's far better than night with a headlamp. And thanks, I do have a few people locally I can talk to. But it's tough because they are not close enough to see the rig.

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

I'm a little confused by your comments. Is the EGR valve separate from the "readiness monitor drive pattern"? And what does a CEL have to do with my issue? I dont have any codes or lights blinking

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

Update: I had time to start and restart the rig a few times. Shortly after startup it will die if I don't keep the pedal down. The higher the rpms the smoother it runs. However, it will die if I let off the gas. Yesterday I heard a hissing noise coming from the engine. So I tried to narrow it...

Thank you for your lengthy reply! I'm not familiar with the "PAIR" system. How would one "remove" it if necessary? TIA

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

My thoughts originally too. I wish I could upload a video. I'll check diligently for any intake hoses that are leaking or broken

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

Not sure I can drive it. It chugs at startup just like you said at 500-700. As it warms, before operating temperature, it wont idle on own it's own. I need to keep my foot on the gas pedal. My time is limited to the morning when the sun comes up. So I was able to start, warm it, turn on the...

Help! Idle chugging at 500-700 rpm after maintenance work

Yes to all your questions....I'm very anal when it comes to my trucks. I'm crossing my fingers you're right. This would make the most sense. When you say drive cycles, what do you mean? Do I just let it chug until it warms up? Then drive? Can you elaborate please?
