I actually plodded along in my research and found another thread here that said it tells the ECU to turn on the fuel pressure regulator. And I may have found a replacement from Yota Shop, woot!
Mine just broke off this weekend while I was replacing the thermostat. I cannot for the life of me find anywhere to buy a new connector, nor can I find anywhere (including the FSM) that explains what this switch does. Anybody that can shed any light on this?
Digging through my garage I found the original stereo I pulled out of my 1991 80 series. For those enthusiasts who want all original components...happy to give it away for the cost of shipping.

I've tried all kinds of versions of having it in gear, in neutral, in 4wd low, brakes on, brakes off. I cannot get the wheel to stop spinning. I'm in the beginning stages of removing parts for a knuckle rebuild on my 1991 FJ80. So far I've been able to get everything off, but I can't torque...
Ok I did a little more work tonight to take the water pump out and I'm realizing I have a lot of hoses to replace and can't find a source. Damaged hoses include:
the transmission hoses that connect to the bottom of the radiator
the hose that comes out of the water pump and runs right under the...
You all are awesome. There is a guy here locally parting out his 80 series and it looks like he's got this one, if that doesn't work I'll ping you. Thanks so much!

I assume I need this switch? I think it...
I do use my trusty old Garmin most of the time...unfortunately the upcoming rally is map and compass navigation only, all GPS-enabled devices are banned.
Reviving this old thread...my '91 80 Series is waaaay off and I'm about to do a rally that includes TSD legs. We bombed this part last year, trying to find a way to improve the speedo.
The number for Speedometer Service doesn't seem to go there anymore, the link on Slee Offroad is dead and...
I tried penetrating fluid, a 17mm flare wrench with and without a breaker bar, two different sizes of vice grips, heat, screaming at it....nada. It's in a super tight spot so there's very little leverage, say the bruises on my arms.
I'm ok with not replacing the hard line parts of the return...
I am trying to replace my power steering gearbox. I'm guessing it's all original because the fluid lines WILL NOT come out of the top of the gearbox. Got a lot of recommendations to cut the lines, because really they need replacing anyway.
Dove into that this weekend, and I realize the lines...
