Warn Trans4mer Brush Guard and Winch Mount System

I was saying you dismissed the Warn that I started the thread with, not the nudge bar that Luke brought in later. I know about the weakness of cosmetic "brush guards", and wasn't suggesting that they were better than bull bars or full bumpers. What I was saying is that the Warn Trans4mer winch...

    Has anyone re-geared a 200-series yet?

@Fisher23 , I think the 3.91 Tundra gears will work, too. Haven't done it, and probably won't, since I am running 285/65-18 BFG ATs (32.6"), and maybe will have 285/70-18 (33") mud-terrains in the future as a maximum size. But that gear may be an option. My 2017 does fine with the slight...

Warn Trans4mer Brush Guard and Winch Mount System

@Romer , I think maybe you should look at the Warn Trans4mer before you dismiss it as some weak cosmetic "brush guard". Those were my words not theirs. The Warn product looks very substantial, and has thick uprights with a 12,500# winch mount in between, it's not some cosmetic accessory. They...

Warn Trans4mer Brush Guard and Winch Mount System

Yes, I like that @krice118 , thanks! I have been looking for one of those as well. I would like to have the brush guard too, just without having to do a whole bumper replacement to get it.

Warn Trans4mer Brush Guard and Winch Mount System

Has anyone looked at the Warn Trans4mer for the Tundra to see if it could be adapted to the Land Cruiser - specifically the late model ones 2016+? I saw a Tundra with one in traffic the other day, and it looks like a good option, since it doesn't require tearing the front bumper off. I'm not...

Mild Offroad and a bit of camping rec

    @900exdriver , is it really "Sarah's Creek"?

I don't have warped rotors but something odd is going on.

It would be interesting to know if the dealer installed Toyota rotors or aftermarket rotors, on the second set. I agree with @JeffH, that this just looks like variation in the casting that has been exposed through the polishing of the material. I've seen it before on other vehicles. It's...

    4.88's

On my '17, the button is on the console aft of the shifter. "ECT 2nd Start" is what I think it is labeled, but I'm going on memory. I will look later. It's really for snow and ice I think, to keep the breaking loose and spinning problem under control.

    4.88's

@cruiseroutfit, YES! - that's exactly one of the reasons I was sold on the new 2017 vs getting an older one (That, and it's new :) ). The gear range with the 8-speed is pretty impressive right out of the box, and with the locking center diff and crawl control, it was looking better and better...

    4.88's

@cruiseroutfit, not to dispute you - I mean no harm, but I'm going on what I have from the Toyota Product Information for my 2017 LC, where from what I understand, the final ratio changed with the new 8-spd transmission in 2016. I didn't think about this with my response before, I don't know...

    4.88's

The 4.88's will be 47.6% "lower" (numerically higher) than the stock gear, which is 3.307. This means the engine rpm would be 47.6% higher in all gears. I calculate 2452 rpm at 70 mph in 8th with the 4.88's and stock tires and wheels. But, with the higher profile 75 tires, even on smaller 17"...

    Tire Size vs. True Size

Interesting - both MFG's list the overall diameter as 33.5" for these... I guess this is a demonstration of the fact that a guy planning his application should check the MFG's specs before he assumes the tire's "size" means it's the actual measurement. @Taco2Cruiser , what diameter do you...

    Builds Limited V8 4Runner "Build"

I like the ones Southern Style Offroad makes - tight fitting and almost look stock, if Toyota made a steel off-road bumper. But I don't know if they make one for your generation 4R. Maybe while you're at it you could change the front face?! HAHA! But, I agree with others, if you aren't...

Sliders look great! Especially the paint job, your guys are good. And seriously, let me know if you need help with the drawers/platform - I have a good bit of experience with such. I want to do something similar myself, so been trying to figure out what would be best and have a couple of...

    OME BP-51 OWNERS...... ROLL CALL.........

@Markuson - thanks for the clarification. Yep, I've looked at a lot of that stuff too since joining this forum and first hearing of the clunk. I haven't been playing in this area for many years, so I was a little in the dark about all the new stuff out there these days - like those race...

    OME BP-51 OWNERS...... ROLL CALL.........

@Markuson , in your opinion, why would a bypass shock have "detectable noises at some point"? The bypass is just an oil pathway around (i.e., bypassing) the piston in the shock's center-of-travel or mid-stroke range of motion. I still don't see why anyone thinks they "should" make noise...

Holy Heck! Didn't know this group exsisted till now!!

I agree @AbsolutGT !! I didn't see this group either, and was wondering if... Just now found it in the 200 series section when @jblatl posted there. I'm gonna need to meet up with you guys one day soon for a ride - but a "light" one since my LC is still stock... I'm in midtown Atlanta right now...

    Oil Dialysis

I ran the Amsoil bypass system on my Tundra. It's the best thing out there for keeping the soot out of the oil. Keeps the oil really clean. But you still need to change the oil regularly because of the additives that are absolutely required for modern engines. Especially with the crap gas we...
