Please talk me out of buying a Santa Fe!

Last time we took one out in the desert it came back in three pieces and had to towed to town. The dunes ripped of the front and rear bumper covers and destroyed the radiator and cooling fan. Plus you will be driving a minivan!

    200 series differences between markets?

I have the Saudi version of the 4.6L LC200. They are popular here due to better fuel mileage (range) and they come with a locking rear diff. They are great quality but built for desert use. They have cloth interior, fewer air bags, less of the nice trim, a basic bolt on rear DVD. That said...

Spare Wheel - Where to stick it?

One last note. I've buried my LC200 up to the doors in soft sand and been pulled out with no issues for the spare. Though getting pulled out is usually the last resort if you can't self recover with sand boards. It has also taken some really hard hits on steep short slip faces and is no worse...

Spare Wheel - Where to stick it?

Hey Escape, I live in Saudi and have an LC200. In my experience having the spare underneath is fine. It does work like a bumper on those steep exit angles coming off a slip face at the bottom. I have seen a several people lose the OEM bumpers on Prados and other non-LC vehicles and I think...

FAQ Thread Options for lifting a 200

I'm isn't as bad as you would think. Not much stiffer than the 2013 TRD Tundra I had in the states. Definitely fun to blast over big speed bumps knowing there is no way you will bottom out.

    Who Has Sliders?

Thanks Taco2. Looks like I will be going with white knuckle sliders since they make them for the 2016+ LC200

    Who Has Sliders?

Does anyone run the ARB Protection Steps. Are they as stout as a slider? I'm looking more for protection than a step.

FAQ Thread Options for lifting a 200

Hey Gents, I did the following lift: BP-51 coilover struts upfront OME 2724 springs in the back with a 10mm trim packer BP-51 shocks in the back. The ride height is about 3" more up front and 4" in the back. I will be adding bumpers front and back and a 180L reserve tank to replace the 33L...

    Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier

This is a direct quote from my daughter "Dad you should put in a rope or a ladder or something". Once I put protection steps on it will be much better. Getting out is currently more like falling out.

    Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier

My wife refers to it as "F'n Gravedigger" because my six year old daughter can't get in by herself now.

    Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier

Tplane2 thanks for the tip off. CBI is going to make them for commercial sales soon. I am going to order one from them. Thanks for all the help gents. Below is the current state of my build. Lifted with OME BP-51 shocks and ARB skid plate. My bumper and roof rack arrive this month. Doing...

    Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier

Yes 33" is the largest tire you can fit with the ARB rear bumper with dual tire carriers. That tire size works for me as the largest I will go will be either 285/65R18 or 275/70R18. What I need confirmed is does the Bumper fit the frame and body. Particularly any changes to the body and OEM...

    Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier

I contacted ARB in Aus and the US. Neither would confirm if it would work. The only info they provided was that the frame was the same.

    Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier

I have a 2016 LC200 (UZJ202) and I am looking for a rear bumper with a dual tire carrier. So far the only one i have found is the Kaymar rear bumper. Unfortunately, it is on the pricy side, where I live it has a very long lead time and the shipping is outrageous. Any suggestions on options...
