    Drivers power window not working

Have the same issue but mine is intermittent. Suspect a poor connection. Driver side window stopped working while 5 hours from home on a road trip. Luckily, slamming the driver side door fixed it temporarily so we could get the window up and continue the trip.

Invest in new paint for FZJ80?

Agree. It may be throwing money away if I paint it. It doesn’t need new paint to keep running. Mainly sentimental at this point. That truck has kept me safe and has always got me back home. During the summer, it makes weekly trips deep into the forest. It regularly hauls horse feed and bedding...

Invest in new paint for FZJ80?

I have heard of this painter. Can I ask what you are planning to have done and the likely cost? Just curious. Probably out of my price range at this time.

Invest in new paint for FZJ80?

Agree with another poster that this is sound advice. Also, would definitely keep the original colors. Not my favorite but it would be too big of a hassle and expense to do a complete color change the right way.

Invest in new paint for FZJ80?

Good points. For what it is worth… when it was quoted, the shop owner discussed using string to lift up the window gaskets to get the paint underneath and removing the side flares to paint them. He was concerned about painting the roof and dealing with the rust around the rack mounts. At the...

Invest in new paint for FZJ80?

I have a ‘96 that is suffering from the typical clear coat issues. The vehicle is stock and has never been repainted and is two toned (emerald green with grey). The hood, roof, and driver side fenders are the worst areas. I have dealt with most of the mechanical issues but it does have a...

Is an 80 Series still a viable/cost-effective option on a reasonable budget vs. IFS trucks?

Personally, I like driving something that is becoming a bit rare. Anyone can buy a newer vehicle but keeping an older vehicle going (100% acknowledgement that the 80 series reliability makes this easier) is something unique in today’s throwaway culture. Mine isn’t perfect and it needs a bit more...

O-ring replacement on water bypass pipe

Have a coolant leak and replacing o-rings and was wondering if I should apply silicone to the new o-rings or just install as is. Additionally, looking at the schematic, it looks like there are two o-rings below the pipe. Any tricks to getting out the cast part below the water bypass pipe to...

Wet Carpet - Where is the leak?

Good to know. The carpet under the second row seats appeared to be dry but didn’t check the cargo area.

Wet Carpet - Where is the leak?

I have an issue that has me a bit baffled. In the last month or two, I have noticed the carpet is wet directly in front of the front passenger seat. It is wet enough that there is what appears to be condensation on the bottom of the floor mat. The first time I noticed it, I thought someone...

Low oil pressure on high mileage motor

Didn’t think of that. Good point. I haven’t noticed any weakness in the power steering but will pay more attention to it. We’ve been using 10w30 and agree that a heavier weight oil is worth trying. Thanks!!

Low oil pressure on high mileage motor

Thanks for the advice! Makes sense. We’ll verify the psi via the mechanical gauge and try a slightly higher viscosity oil.

Low oil pressure on high mileage motor

I am looking for advice on a possible oil pressure issue. We have 96 LC with almost 330k miles on the original motor. The vehicle drives great but we noticed recently the oil pressure seems lower then it has read in the past. The dip stick indicates the oil level is good. See pictures. I have...
