Hello folks, my 87's hatch window does not have the defog lines. Considering I need to buy a window what other mods are needed in my truck. I purchased a dash switch but wonder if Toyota installed the appropriate wiring. What if not? is this a complicated task:hhmm:.

Hello Folks, I solved my front plate to engine leak and have everything up and running. However, I now have a leak from the bottom right 14mm crank cover bolt. WTF! Oil is comming out of the bolt. I have never had this happen to me in any vehicle. Any ideas why? I applied RTC and a rubber...
Hello Fellas, I need to remove my cam shaft gear to get to the back plate to fix a leak. Can this be done without removing the cam shaft ? I need to do this because if I remove the cam I will need to remove the AC radiator that means letting my gas out that I don't want to do.
Thanks, Rique
Ok, so I'm not in the best mood. What I thought was a leak on the front engine timing gear cover turned out to be a leak on the
plate that fits behing the gears. In order to change this gasket I beleive I need to remove the camshaft, lifters, lift rods..darn:crybaby:
Has anybody copped with...
Main Crankshaft Nut
Hi List, I am trying to remove the main Crank Shaft Nut in order
to fix an oil leak and am having a hell of a time. Is this nut
standard right hand thread or is it inverted and tightents counterclock wise?
Any tricks on how to remove. My impact wrench did not budge it...
Hi m8s, I need to get access inside my gas tank in order to drop Fitch fuel catalyst capsules. I tried through the gas cap but it seems there is a 90º elbow. Is it possible to access inside via the
fuel level sensor?
Thanks much, Rique :bounce:
Hello M8s, I have acquired a good used tail wiper motor, arm, water pump and squirter. I don't know how or where the rear water bottle goes. Any body have pics of this setup?
Thanks much,
Rique
Hi M8s, I have changed bearings on all 4 wheels according to the book. However, I feel they are too tight. How loose must the wheels turn by hand?
Thanks, Rique
Every time I take a sharp turn to the left or right I hear a bonk sound as if I had something loose in the rear end. I'm guessing the 4 bottom bolts that fasten the springs are not tight enough and letting the rear swing loose. I will tighten them with my impact wrench... what is the max...
Hello M8s, so I finally completed my drive train overhaul, I changed all the bearings to my 5 speed gearbox, 4 wheels, and differential pinion bearing fro and aft. New u joints and grease. Everything work tight and rotates like a dream, the nightmare is that at 70mph I still have a vibration...
Hello Mates, well I took the differential appart and as expected the pinnion bearings were worn. Other than that everything in tiptop condition. Now for the rebuild, I am putting everything back together as it was before with the two new bearings. Since I am using all the same gears and shim am...
Hi list, I am in doubt wether or not to change tire size from
31 x 10.5 to 33 x 9.5. I understand you get less torque but then you have a thinner tire. Does this not compensate the power loss? Also, down South most of the FJ60's came with these very tall skinny tires for what reason?
Rique
Hi folks, next Monday I will tear down my differential and replace all the bearings. Are there any links on the web or this site where I can get instructions. :hhmm:
Thanks, much.
Rique
Hello folks, I just replaced all the bearings in my 5 speed transmission. The inside of the tranny was in mint condition but two bearings were worn. I thought that these bearings were the cause of the vibration I had but its still there. It starts at around
70mph and worsens as I go faster. It...
Hi all, I checked my spark plugs and seem I am running rich. What I would like to know is what jet to change high or low? which jets are more responsible for putting carbon on the spark plugs? If I use a fuel to air mix meter and idle is 14.7 then would problem be with the High jet? Thanks, Rique
Hello Cruiser heads,
I live at 12000 feet and O2 is reduced 30% so what if I set up an oxygen bottle with a NOX selenoid and hook up to the post air filter air inlet. When ever I need some punch the selenoid will shoot some O2 to my carb. This basically is what happens when I go to sea level...
Hello Cruiser heads,
I took a few days off after new year and traveled to the port of Ilo in Peru. I took an interesting set of pictures I have attached at the highest point before heading all the way down to sea level. Anybody been at higher altitude with there FJ60? I dare ya!

Hello Folks, I wanted to know if anybody on the list has installed a trubo on a 2 or 3F. Also, is Fuel injection a prerequisite for turbo?
thanks, Enrique
Hi All, I wonder if anybody has a Nitrouse Oxide set up on their truck. I was reading some archives were Turbo seems to be to
expensive and complicated. NOX seems to be a cool option for power on demand. Enrique
