    Checked again this morning. The glow light only flashes for about a 1/4 second. The voltage drops immediately after the light goes out. Doesn’t engage long enough to know what it is, but drops to 6.5 volts to ground. Swapped a spare timer relay, same thing…

    I would have to check with the supplier I bought them from. I replaced them when I did the head gasket last year. I trust both the parts guys and mechanic not to install the wrong parts. Just seems weird to me that it would be 7.5 volts to the glow plugs.

    Hello, Found my fuel heater shorted out. I can’t find the exact P/N. But am wondering if one from another model/year will work? they look virtually identical, other than the shape of the plug. anyone on here have experience with this? Thanks!

    I just got home and am gonna have another go at it tomorrow. Thought I would try using a set of booster cables to check which ground was bad.

    I’ve replaced the batteries, terminals, and alternator. I know it’s charging. it’s just a matter of laying in the snow.

    I didn’t check the engine ground yet. And the windows work like $hit. Especially in the cold. I check from the fuse/relay panel to the battery and there was a voltage drop. I took the truck to a shop as I had to leave town and it’s cold out. They didn’t have any luck so I’m back to square one...

    No power at the bendix solenoid on the starter motor. Starting to think it’s a grounding issue. As I was troubleshooting a voltage drop to the head light relay when this happened. And glow plugs are definitely not working....

    I had wifey-poo turn the key while I was underneath. No power to the bendix. From the wiring diagram I have, looks like the starting solenoid is most likely the issue.

    My BJ42 is parked next too the 80. will it do any harm, to take 24 v off the 42, and put it right too the starter in my 80?
