Thanks for the responses, their holding at 1,500 for now since its newly listed. I'm sure they'll be willing to budge in a couple days. Which gives me time to get a PM list and prices together along with Dream a list of V8 conversion :)
I was lookingat some in the $6K. None panned out yet. This one is only enticing because it's two blocks away. The easibility of that is very enticing instead of having to fly to LA or Phoenix for a truck.
Obviously me thinking the knocking is a head gasket shows how mechanically inclined I am...
A 96 FJZ80 is for sale in my local town. Which is why it's so enticing. 160K Miles. Body and Frame in good shape. Minimal Rust.
Distinct knocking sound coming from engine though. Head gasket I'm assuming?
Some pretty good oil leaking going on.
Knuckles are very grimy.
I'll post the few...

Oh wow yeah anybody in LA wanna go check out a cruiser for me and drive it to CO for me all expenses paid?!
Thanks for the run down, I was pleased with how engine and transmission ran. I'm sure no major issues would pop up with this rig, just trying to guess how many minor ones will. But that's...
I feel like I was just man handled by my mom aftetndipping a hand into the cookie jar! Good advice, I was thinking the same thing. Why fret over $1000 bucks when it's in pretty darn good shape for most 80's out there these days.
Yeah I'd love to get behind the wheel and feel everything out and be able to go through all the necessary pre inspection list. Unfortunately the truck is 6 hours away and I won't have time for a week or two. Who knows if it'll hang around that long. My only hope is to get someone to respond to...
Yeah the two tone hurts me too, I don't know about the door jambs but if they are the original color that might be a deal breaker. I'm still prying the owner for more pics but it is difficult to get responses.
Owner says the swap was done by previous owner who was in mechanic school and this was the project car. Scary or good? I'm not sure how I feel about that, either the guy had a good teacher and it was done right or some things might have been overlooked.
That's a good point, I do know there is a club in the area so I'll reach out to them in the forum section and see if anyone is willing to take it for a drive and look it over for me.
