I believe you are correct about Toyota being fans of astronomy - If I’m not mistaken, all of their car models have astronomical names: Crown, Camry, Corolla, Avalon……
As far a Pollux orange goes, supposedly it was not intended for the US market in 1974 and doesn’t appear on the US color...
nice color - not sure my limited painting skills can handle the pearl finish.... biggest project to date has been a case skidsteer.
However It might be an opportunity to upgrade my paint gun...
I have called every paint shop in the region and none can come up with a current equivalent to 304 Toyota Pollux Orange.
Does anyone have the recipe that a local paint shop would be able to recognize/ reproduce?
I have searched and also posted in the paint section without success.

My project came to me with the steering components MIA. I have sourced a manual steering gearbox and the arms etc. but still missing the center steering arm assembly including the bracket that mounts it to the frame.
I’m sure that with all the conversions to power steering that there are...
Not shown in the pics but I have just about finished welding in the quarter panels - no alignment issues so far. Solid as a rock once the quarters get attached to the rear sill bar…
I’m planning to use Al Jacobs’ pumpkin orange on my 74 project.
At least when first applied, the 304 Pollux Orange is a bit too bright for my taste. -

everything is pretty good forward of the mid floor - I'll install new body mounts under the front...
perfect - thanks for the confirmation - heading on a road-trip this week to pick up a top and sides.
as you noticed, the rear sill has completely collapsed on my project - thankfully many of the parts for the rebuild were included with the cruiser - rear floor and sill, body mounts, new...
the amby doors look great, but I can imagine the leaks and flex they would add.
I was planning on using the hatch, and I have ordered a bolt-on tailgate which should strengthen the body structure (especially while I'm cutting out and replacing floors, wheel wells, and quarters...

So is it possible to adapt my '74 liftgate/hatch to a '79 top and cab sides?
Is the opening size physically different? If not it would seem to be a simple matter to add the proper support for the liftgate hinges and weld up the holes for the ambulance door hinges? (since I don't have...
