Watched a couple videos on the new 4Runner and noticed that both the Throttle House and TFL guys mentioned that they' have to wait until Tuesday (Apr 16th) to release their full 250 series Land Cruiser reviews ... they wouldn't even mention the driving dynamics of the 250 until then. The UK...
Salesperson made it seem so, but I definitely want to hear it from the GM's mouth (and his handwriting) before moving forward.
My plan is to wait until Tuesday when the 250 LC review embargo is lifted to see if I can't convince the wife to stick with the LC.
Talked with dealership yesterday and they said I could spec out preference and they'd try for it. The salesperson did make it sound like I could spec it exactly as I'd want it, but from past Toyota/Lexus purchases a custom order doesn't really seem something that the dealership can do. As for...
All, not looking to profit off it, but I’m first in line for the regular Land Cruiser but my wife just saw the new 4Runner and prefers that. So now I can either
transfer my $1000 deposit to the new 4Runner and give up my place in the Land Cruiser line, or, I could just put a separate new...
Fully understanding the difference that the hybrid system brings relative to rated towing capacity, I wonder if rated towing capacity will also go up by ~1,000 lbs on the '24 Land Cruiser?
Anyone tried out this new CSF radiator on their GX? Wanting to order one but hesitant as there are some not so positive stories from our 80-series brothers.
10” Cerwin Vega self powered subwoofer just barely fits under driver’s seat as well. And it gives a good deal of bass for what it is. I ended up raising the back of the driver’s seat for a hair more clearance (using a longer bolt and a couple of washers as spacers) but it did squeeze in there...
bought from one owner retiree with 32k miles and complete service records. Was even on the original factory tires (which were promptly removed along with the ugly 17" chrome wheels)
Not the first to pull off this combo, but switched to 20" 4Runner Limited wheels with 275/55r20 tires (getting rid of the god awful 17" OEM chrome wheels). No rubbing and the ride is only slightly firmer than with the 17" tires, which is more than worth it for how much more stable & secure the...
Ya got a follow up email saying it had some rust too. Got another email today that they no longer had it. Could always follow the VIN to see where it ends up being auctioned at ... maybe there’s still a steal to be had.
Came across this one and might be a good deal for a mud member looking for a low mileage FZJ80. One owner clean Carfax with a rather believable mileage history. The Honda dealership selling it is wanting $14k. Data plate shows it to be emerald green and not moonglow pearl as they’re describing...
Looking to buy a nice low mileage FZJ80 that has spent all its life in Portland and coastal Washington. Never been up that way so was curious what kind of rust issues trucks typically have up there. Obviously I’ve asked the seller for undercarriage photos but it being a holiday weekend I can...
Reviving an old thread here, but wanted to share the car mount that is working great for me. WizGear Air Vent Mount ($9 on Amazon) - doesn’t require any drilling, works with magnetic cases, and doesn’t block view of AC or stereo/navi. Seems very secure so far but isn’t grabbing the AC vent hard...
Amazon sells $10 charcoal air purifier/deodorizer bags that grab a lot of bad smells. Helped out with some barnyard smells in one of my cars that no amount of cleaning could get rid of ... only problem is they’re only effective for a 18 months or so.
Ya I’ve done it before many times on my older cars. Crazy easy. Still curious as to the price as where I live now fines residents for working on their cars (even changing a battery, something I recently found out). Easier to just pay than to borrow friends/family driveway and drive to/from just...
@mreedbmwm3 -- roughly how much did that compression test set you back? When I bought my 95 last spring my (very honest) mechanic talked me out of doing one due to the low mileage & lack of symptoms but my curiosity is still there.
Any word on what this was? My ‘95 seems to have the same issue. No leak showing around the head gasket, just the base of the #6 cylinder exhaust port has some liquid buildup (see photo).
Engine runs fine, only has 120k miles on it and mechanics have signed off on it for long road trips...
@FloridaFJ80 - Bump for @ecameron87 's question ... would love to see the tan/brown cloth seats. Difficult for my uncreative arse to get comfortable with what the pattern would look like on seats from the standalone cloth sample photos.
My GF bought me this tool set for my bday (at my strong suggestion; ~$30 after typical Harbor Freight coupons). Fits perfectly in the foot area behind in front of the 3rd row seats. Tools inside don’t rattle or and the toolbox doesn’t slide about. Should be good for emergencies, although I’m...
@-Spike- just finished this repair. Great call on using threaded tube and your photo was very helpful. I bought 3” & 3.5” lengths just in case. In retrospect 4” threaded tube would’ve been even nicer. Found it all in the lamp/electrical section of a specialty hardware store. $5 well spent. While...
